Hey Forum Folks,

Just took delivery of my Durango Cat and the included manuals do not have any mention of the 392 or the Hellcat engine. I want to give this vehicle the best seating but without any manual to reference I do not have a break in procedure so I am wondering if anyone that has a Cat can let me know what it is. I assume that in general it will be the same across the lineup.

Thanks in advance

For some reason, they missed adding the 6.2 and 392 in the 2021 manuals. Download a 2020 Hellcat manual and you'll find the break-in recommendations there.

And if you really want to do it right, Google "Diff gear break-in".

Same as the break-in for the Trackhawks:
  • 0 - 100 miles: stay under 3,500 RPM, light acceleration, below 55 MPH
  • 100 - 300 miles: stay under 5,000 RPM, light acceleration, below 70 MPH
  • 300 - 500 miles: full RPM range, no extended WOT, below 85 MPH
