A dealer where I purchased my black Challenger Hellcat from had 3 Charger Hellcats in their allocation. I talked them into selling all 3 to me for $5k over sticker. This took place about 3 weeks ago. I received a call this afternoon from the sales manager that told me the orders have been cancelled due to a lack in automatic transmissions. Even though I have the VON and gave a deposit, they can cancel my order? Is there any recourse??????

This same dilemma has been discussed many times since September, 2014. Unfortunately, the answer is "no". Sounds like you had a sweet deal in the making. Who knows, something may come through because there's a big incentive in it for the dealer, too!

Probably because they were entered as "Dealer Order" and were not "Sold Order"

I think we are going to see a bunch of VONs get dumped at some point. Not believing the whole rollover deal.

Im not seeing anywhere that says the orders are canceled on those papers unless thats specifically what BG status means, in which case that means I am screwed too cause last I checked my Charger Hellcat order was in BG. If in fact someone confirms BG is equal to having your order canceled then I may just settle for a 392 or wait it out till next year.

And the shaded area is restriction, as in it can't go from BG to BX. Not canceled. Unless they said after they printed the stuff that Dodge/FCA said no go

I planned on keeping 2 (tri coat black challenger and B7 Blue Charger) and selling the other 4.

Any sold orders to dealerships will probably end up being cancelled as FCA wants to build sold orders to customer entered names first. That's priority

if you find 4 suckers who have $10k extra to spend your broke even

+ your not a dealership.....id be less likely to give $10k adm to a person than i would a dealer....

what ya trying to do with this? just curious on your money making idea? your seeing something im not

you buy 4 HC's for $5k adm each....pay something in State taxes dont you?....i think mine was close to $4k-5k per car......now your $70k HC Charger is $80k........how do you sell them for more than $80k? you dont get your taxes back when you sell the car.....

so how do you sell them at a profit

..or you could sell them in the 30 days before you locally title and register and probably pay taxes. Then you collect the tax refund check for purchasing out of state and keep it. If not sold you don't register it, since it's on an out of state temp tag, and still have the bill of sale and an unregistered car. Possible?

so your saying you buy the car, pay the taxes.....and the State will refund you your taxes if you dont register it? your name is still on the title.......your transferring a title....why would they give you your $$ back just because you didnt own it for more than 30 days......i dont have any idea if there is a loop hole here.....if so i could see a $3-5k profit per car......each State is most likely different........

if you have $280,000 to buy 4 HC's is it worth the trouble/risk to make $3k-5k per car....what if the market changes and you lose on 1 or 2 of them?.......

with $280,000 you'd be making $16k-28k per year in the stock market...why bother with HC's for same/worse returns

If I buy and finance a car out if state, they would want the taxes added into the total. Then since I'm not a resident of that state and will title/register in another state I would be issued a refund check for the amount of taxes paid at purchase. This would then usually be used to pay the taxes in the destination state. During that time I would have a paper temp tag from the originating state for 30 days. As the purchaser it is up to me to transfer to destination state to continue to be able to drive the car. If it's not driven, I don't know what the deal is.
