Figured I'd start a tracking thread for anyone who has a cat on order. I recently ordered mine as have a few others here. We can put our info in & edit it at any time as info becomes available. This way anyone can get an idea of how long it may take. For anyone who has recently received their car, you can fill in info as well to help others with time lines. I'll start with mine.

My Durango HC ordered on 11/14 is slated to begin assembly 3/18...
We waited with ordering a TRX until very late December. Couldn't see the point in ordering early when it was already known that they wouldn't start building them until then.
Anyway, now it's built and the actual wait has begun.
Yep, that's how it works.
Hmm, I did it just the other day (for a TRX) and it worked for the build sheet.
Guess I should try again now that it's built, since the window sticker wouldn't come up then.

It's anybody's guess how long it'll take. And your dealer can start tracking the progress immediately.
Window stickers won't be generated until car is built.
But if you check for it daily, the car gets built sooner, I've heard.

Check through chat or dealer?
Depends on what kind of answers you want. Guesswork, largely, from chat, or facts from the dealer.

My build moved along well until it was shipped to Windsor, where it's been sitting. Not sure if Windsor is where the Upfit Center is located, or just a parking lot.
If it's in JB it's at an upfitter, if in JS it's just parked for now.
I'm curious. Has anyone ever had a car built on the projected date? Or delivered on the date it was supposed to arrive?
Does anyone know if it takes that long after I
Could be a couple of weeks, could be several months. Lots and lots of variables.
When it says ship date is that ship to the upfitters or dealer?
It should be build, then storage, upfitter, or shipping. Or combinations thereof.
Either way, build is obviously first, then shipping is last.
That's good to know, since you ordered the day after I did. They will be very close.
I wouldn't count on that. Way too many variables.
Negative, you say? He, he, let's call it realistic instead. After at least 10 orders since '14 I have learned what to believe. And more importantly, what not to believe. And even more importantly, not to worry about it.

Did you ever read my entire signature? That '19 was a somewhat extreme example, but not the only one by a long shot. Also, that was without any Covid or chip shortages.

And by the way, the VIN has little or nothing to do with what order they get built in. Or when they get shipped. Or when they arrive.
I'm somewhat surprised that they get built as quickly as they are.

If you ever watched a Canadian show, Rescue 401 or something to that effect, and see how many tractor trailers loaded with car parts wreck, then consider the just-in-time delivery schedule, it's impressive that any get made, I think.

Thankfully, the transporters seem to crash less frequently.

There are a few upfitters, or at least there used to be. But I don't remember the names or locations.
You ordered almost a month after Mattm400 and myself and have the very similar estimated ship date. Maybe they are getting ready to ramp up!
There's a reason I never count the time from order to build. And I definitely wouldn't be surprised if that was a long time, if I ordered months before the builds were scheduled to begin.
Estimated ship dates? Well, that's using even the word "estimate" loosely.
My guess would be what MattM400 thinks, the plant probably builds in waves, and we're just priority in April.
Sounds likely. And lessens the risk of getting a Charger trunk lid on a Challenger, and vice versa.

Ordered Jan 6, could access broadcast sheet last Monday, the 8th, dealership says car was built the 12th, status is JS (shipped to storage), still no window sticker. Any idea when window sticker shows up or with what status? No clue why it would need to be stored???
Our TRX went to JS for a few weeks...no idea why. Just like I don't even want to know why it then went to KZP (body vendor).
Anyway, you'll see the window sticker once it's in KZ.
I am referring to the tracking site that you put in your VIN# and it sys what status your car is in.
Please share. I'd love to know what site that is. As would many others, I'd imagine.
I'm certainly familiar with that one, but never knew that it could display status codes, too.
I think the shipping date is to the upfitters
Then what do the call the actual shipping date, when the vehicle gets on a train?
I don't know i haven't made it that far yet
Every one we've ordered so far has had a shipping date that coincided with when the vehicle was shipped. Which makes perfect sense to me.
Before that, they were being made, in storage, at upfitters, etc.

Of course, that the vehicle has shipped doesn't mean that it can't end up in storage again, at some point along the way.
