Please explain the method of car transportation, enclosed etc?
Enclosed but I told them not to wash it at dealer, so it had fine layer of dust all over it.

Back from getting tinted, 20% all around. Going to do windshield but the 50% was on back order, be another week. Already got my neutral cover, black lugs, zl1 rear mud flap, and ordered a pair of Nitto DR’s.

Ok, but if the Dealer car wash causes swirl marks, the dealer is responsible for fixing it. I'd like to offer another option to the Dealer hands off approach to pre-delivery preparation. Some of these cars get delivered to the Dealers filthy and the condition of the paint etc can't be seen. Let the Dealer know your concerns about possible damage due to washing and cleaning. Then why not let the Dealer do al of the necessary PDI, including washing, cleaning, inspecting etc. When you pick up the car if you see any damage, swirl marks, scratches or any damage, have the Dealer fix it. Since the car hasn't left the Dealership the damage is clearly their responsibility. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this approach to pre-delivery preparation?
The problem for me is that the fix would involve removing a slight amount of clear. That’s the way removing swirls and other minor imperfections in the paint works. You use a very mild abrasive which smooths the surface of the paint. Something akin to sanding basically, though not that extreme obviously. I want as much clear on there as possible. It already has only ~2 thousandths of an inch of clear on it from the factory, I don’t want it any thinner.

If a dealer can't even wash a car correctly, they may not be all that good at removing the swirls they created, either.

Also, for me it's often at least 300 miles to a dealer, usually 450, so by the time a car comes off the trailer at home it's not pristine no matter what.

Can someone explain to me how their price protection worked? For those who are not aware, I placed a deposit back in May 2022 with Dan Cummins CDJR. The order was moved to a 2023, but they said it would now be $5k more. I had heard from a few on this forum that the same thing happened to them except they were able to keep their agreed upon price from 2022. I would like to hear how you guys were able to keep the same price for yours out of curiosity.

Duck - Fully understand your frustration. Did your VON stay the same after your order was transitioned to a 23? In my case it was Dodge/Stellantis made the transition to a 23 order, and received emails from both the dealer (Koons) and Customer Care that this was happening. My contract price did not change. Dan Cummins has been a reputable dealer for forum members, something doesn't seem right.

Mine is supposedly price protected but the POC shows an increase of about $2500. Be interested to see how it shakes out.

Either way I’m taking the car provided it shows up 😂

Totally normal, and your POC will show a price increase...if the vehicle has realized a price increase. You will be FINE as long as your dealer had price protected your order and the deal is finalized within 14 days of the vehicle landing at the dealership. Your window sticker sticker will show the increased price as well, so it is actually best case scenario when this happens... because you're deal is getting sweeter.

I was price protected at Jim Shorkey in Pittsburgh as well. I have to say they came through on every single assurance and promise they made and never gave me a hard time.

The financing issue I had, basically I was pre-approved with a credit union with a locked in rate, but they had to mail me a check for some reason, and couldn't just merge it with the indirect loan through the dealer. So I ended up doing a new indirect loan with the same credit union at a higher rate for like 2 days, then somehow got it replaced with my pre-approved loan. It sounded like I may have had to take the car back while waiting for the check for a couple days but I didn't, everything was fine.

Also was able to put the down payment on my credit card, gotta get that cash back!

How much did they let you put down on your credit card? Also didn't the pre-approval expire after so many days? Just curious cause mine will be at the dealership any day and I wanna be prepared.

Actually put down the full amount, like 8k.

The pre-approval was only good for 60 days and I was cutting it close. If you have to get a mailed in check I'd ask the dealer who it should be made out to then see if they can next day it.

Yes, my VON did stay the same. I was only informed by Dan Cummins that the order would be transitioning to a 2023—nothing from Dodge/Stellantis. Thanks for the details though Craig 👍

For folks who had their orders converted to 23, has anyone had luck requesting a build change? Currently have octane red on my build, would like to switch to hellraisin. Hellraisin was my original choice, but wasn't available when I placed the order in Aug 22. I'm not sure if a build change would create problems with the price protection.

Sadly Hellraisin was discontinued and replaced by the return of Plum Crazy for MY23.

I tried. Sadly it’s not allowed.

Is your money factor also locked from the original order (if you're leasing)? I also had a $1k code, have reached out to the dealer asking if that's going to be honored.
We haven’t crossed that bridge yet. Wife has $1000 and I have a $1750. From what I read in another thread they can be stacked. Don’t know if that’s true or not.

My GM advised me if I change anything on the order, I could possibly lose my price protection. But that would be awesome if you can change it. Good luck brother!
