Any dealer will gladly work on your hellcat, the question is do you trust them?

My rules that lets any shop work on my former Challenger SRT8 and now my Charger SRT8 or my now inbound Hellcat Challenger

- Can I watch my car being worked on?
- Do i trust the mechanics/service reps
- Are they qualified

That first one is a primary, I always watch my car when i've done oil changes, brakes etc. Longer jobs aslong as i trust them ill leave. If a shop says i can't step in the bay i can understand for insurance/liability. If i can't see it at all i won't trust em.

My hellcat is my first NEW car, both my challenger and charger were bought used and out of warranty so i service them at a local shop. The dealership im buying mine from will get a chance to earn my service, if i don't like the treatment then ill move to another dealership. The second i hear any wise games with my car, im gone.

Do you always sit at the chef's table when dining out, too? Paranoia at its finest, right here.

I'll be packing several boxes of donuts when I take mine in for the recall, updates, and service bulletins. I'm going to make sure everyone there loves me....hopefully they'll police each other and pay a little more attention to my car. I'm not going to hang around and watch, that usually just pisses them off.

After i had a dealership tell me they used the starscan tool on my car and said the only way to get the remote start working on my 08 challenger was to change the PCM for over $500 in total and refused to let me watch them go through the options on the starscan to prove it didn't show. Only to go to another dealership and have them use starscan without changing anything on the car when i rolled up and i left in 10 minutes with remote start.

Yeah, I'm paranoid.

That's why 2nd and 3rd opinions are necessary, but if you require your dealer to allow you to watch them work, I guarantee you're not very high on their 'nice customer' list. Trust your dealer or do the work yourself.

But to answer the OP's question; yes, ANY Dodge dealership with service can work on your Hellcat.

Yep, exactly what HC1 said. I know my dealer very well. I bring donuts and I visit with everyone. I can tell you the name of the Receptionist all the way up to the GM. I deal with one Service Manager, he knows that only himself and the SRT Tech is allowed to drive my car and that it has to be in a stall near the window so I can watch or I will stand in the shop (out of the way, but that isn't really good for liability insurance). I talk to the Service Manager before I ever bring my car in to find out what is going to be done and I will go over the detail about how it will be done and exactly the time it will take. I will use every hour of my vacation time to stay with my car, if necessary! :D Because our Hellcats run hot, it takes some time to cool down before they can actually do the work so, I try to schedule the very earliest appointment and then get there before that so it can cool off. Speeds up repair time. :):)

How do you know if the Dodge dealer has an SRT tech besides asking the question?
You don't. Although all dealers that have sold a HC are required to have one. But you had better ask. If you don't you might get a regular tech working on your car. My advice would be to ask to meet the SRT tech. Let him know how much you appreciate his specialized training (yeah right) while you judge his competence and respect for your car. Go with your gut.
As Reagan once said. "Trust but verify"
