Like most of you (I presume), I am a member of many groups and message boards related to our amazing cars. Until moving from a Hellcat (non-Redeye) to a Super Stock, tires/drag radials/winter was something I didn't give much thought to. My recent search for something other than drag radials (so I could drive my car through the winter) brought out even more opinions than I heard before I married my first wife! What was particularly surprising to me were the people who got genuinely angry at the idea of me having the audacity to drive MY car all winter and not wrap it in gauze and park it in my garage. Don't get me wrong, if that's YOUR thing, more power to you! For me, I'm nearly 60 years old and HOPE I outlive the car payments on this thing, so EVERY day is a Super Stock day for me. I'll never totally understand why that makes people so mad. I suppose they conjure up some image of me treating this amazing car like a log wagon, and not giving it the respect it deserves - NOTHING could be further from the truth. This investment (not far off in value from my HOUSE) is MY investment, and it seems odd that anyone ELSE would feel the need to throw their opinion into the ring on it. Like, "bro... you're not gonna let your sister and her kids move in, are you?!? ARE YOU? That shit will TRASH your house and in twenty years it'll be nothin' but LUMBER, Bro..." lol No one would EVER chastise you for putting up tacky shutters on your house, but if you want 24" rims, or god forbid, CLAW MARKS on your car, they call out the damn cavalry! 😂 Yes friends, I will be driving my wretchedly expensive car through the ENTIRE winter. Carefully, and respectfully. I will be washing it THOROUGHLY at incredibly regular intervals so as to remove any and all salt or sand. I will be doing this because it's MY car and MY decision to do so. I'm willing to entertain any and ALL opinions at the low low rate of $1500 each (yeah, my car payment). Otherwise, move on along... there's nothing to see here... lol

Ever read the Corvette forums for fun? You may see a lot of similarities. How many Hellcats are daily drivers 24/7?

Did you ever figure out the winter tire situation? From what I can figure out, with tire availability, new Triumph Wheels (Or similar) fit to order along with larger tires that are available for winter driving is the only option.

It's Good! Drive it & wear it out! You are correct, that's alot of $$ to just sit there half a year. Luckily I have a beater car and a truck to drive, plus wife's car. It's hard to see the Hellcat sitting, but I have plenty of options for vehicles to drive when weather is bad. My biggest thing is it's such a damn pita to clean & detail it all the time.
Enjoy it & have fun!

You'll get a lot of opinions when you put it out there on the net. I've also seen the guys who drive their cars as DDs and guys who beat on their cars criticize guys who want to take care of their vehicles...the term garage queen comes up a lot. Not sure why people have the need to dictate what others do with their own stuff when it isn't affecting anyone else.

I’m on your side here. These cars are just like any other. They want to be started and driven every day. Only difference is the big smile every time you push the start button. I’m over 60 too so I don’t want to waste any time driving anything else. I’ve managed to put on over 100k miles on my current cat and hope to pile on as many miles as I can on the Redeye I’ve got on order because the afterlife might have nothing but EVs🤭. But unlike most, I treat mine like a car. It looks lived in and goes through the occasional car wash. Got more road rash than most beaters and plenty of windshield chips. And it still gets plenty of compliments 😁

Can someone invent a garage combination dyno/video screen/VR that makes it so we can fire up the cars midwinter and go for a run on some exotic racing circuit or some such, while, uh, ecologically powering a, uh, generator, that helps save the whales and preserves power for heating the house or some such?
Full throttle Hellcat thrills without leaving the comfort of your (hopefully soundproof) garage!
Think of the low intake air temps with your car's front end ducted (fan forced linked directly to the rear wheel rollers) straight to the outside air!

The tire situation just keeps getting worse, honestly, lol. I'm not sure if you read my last "fix", but I got talked into buying a set of 265/45R18 tires that are more narrow than the rims. Had them installed but the guy who mounted them (Dodge dealership) made sure to scare the CRAP out of me before I left by telling me not to take any curves or turns "too aggressively" because he was afraid it might cause one of the tire to "lose the bead". So, while spending the last week and a half grannying around on THOSE tires I called BACK to the same place that sold me the tires (Fitment Industries), was told there were no refund (which I expected), and got talked into another entire set of wheels AND tires. These wheels (and tires, of course) are 20", and we checked EVERY parameter to make SURE they would fit. I was told that in order to clear the brake caliper they would need an adapter (which they don't sell, but he directed me to a website that does). I paid for the wheels and tires, went over to the other website and paid for the adapters, and prepared to patiently wait for them all to come rolling in. It was THEN that I decided to do some research on "adapters", or as they can more commonly be called, "spacers". These are about an inch thick, and I'm guessing you ALREADY KNOW what my research turned up... So I will now have TWO new sets of tires and one new set of rims (roughly 5K worth) and not one bit of it truly useful to me.
