I finally decided to purchase a Z06 convertible with 7M. After waiting, I decided to trade in my Porsche Boxster S on the Z instead of buying the Hellcat and keeping the Boxster. The Hellcat is coming in this week of course but I already picked up the Z and drove it home 500 miles from North Carolina to New Jersey. I am a little sad but do really enjoy the Corvette. You are a great group of people and I hope every gets their car soon. I hope I can still hang around even though I am a turncoat :^)

BTW the car is at Route 18 Chrysler in East Brunswick NJ and may still be available. It is a loaded car with black hood and every other option except the Bronze wheels .It has black Laguna interior and 6 M.

BAAAAHAHHAHAHAA... Hellcat coming in 1 week, bails and buys Vette.

Silly. You're silly!

That's like blowing a jump shot right at the buzzer! I don't understand these Vette jumpers, I really don't. Maybe because I've EXPERIENCED the Cat and know the attention and accolades it receives? (and most importantly, what the accelerator is capable of...?)

Sure, a Vette is equally crazy-fast, but I can take 3 people back in time WITH me while doing it!

Moreover, I don't understand why the guys who DO bail for a Vette don't post this crap over at the local Chevy watering hole? I suppose it WAS nice you posted the tip so someone else can inherit your would-be beauty.

Vettes are NICE, don't get me wrong, but I don't see a Vette being as special or drawing the same attention as a Cat, not in a MILLION years!

I love the Hellcat, like...A LOT. So much so that I literally somehow have 2 on order (very, very recent development) but I have no qualms at all in saying that a Z06 is flat out a better overall car. It's just as fast in a straight line but would absolutely slaughter the Hellcat on the track. So yeah, I can COMPLETELY understand why someone would jump ship for one!

Now that said...it's not a fair comparison either, Z06's cost anywhere from $20-45k more than a Hellcat (**** ADM's, I'm not counting that shit) so they SHOULD be a better car. When it comes to the $60-70k price though, there's not a car on this planet that can even begin to touch the Hellcat!

Yeah agree! A Hellcat has a lot more practicality but the new interior and Uconnect is killing it so hard the ZR1 will need upgrading by the time it hits

I'm not one to bash other cars,, the z06 is a wicked beast,, but also cost a lot more...I watch the video of Jay Leno driving the new z06, and it was like driving a skate board,, and it's a pain in the azz to get in and out of. That's one of the reason I like the hellcat,, drives great, won't jar your teeth, it's pretty fast, and easy to get in and out of...mind you, I'm not old, or the least bit over weight, and I still see it being a pain to get in..but please enjoy your vette,, you have an incredible car

I knew I was going to take a little abuse. I posted it because I thought someone may want the car. It is Sublime by the way. I understand what everyone is saying and I know you are all true to your rides. I did it actually because although the Z is more expensive it turned out to be more practical for me. I dont need the extra seats because my kids are all grown up. I am sure some might not agree with my logic but it works for me. First of all, it seemed like it was still going to be a long time for my car to come even though it was ordered in september. As of last week I was told it was still in the paint shop. After I bought the Vette I was told it was shipping. My original plan was to keep my Boxster S because it was a convertible and just buy the Hellcat. I am retired and in the last 1 year only managed to put 2000 miles on it. If I had 2 toys I would not have been able to enjoy both. It was going to cost me around $75000 out the door for the Hellcat. I had a $3500 mark up and that was with a friend who was very good friends with the owner of the dealership. I am sure it will be higher for someone else but I do not know how much. I would have traded the Porsche in on the Hellcat but I really like having a convertible. I figure if I am going to have a toy I want to be able to put the top down on a nice day. When it seemed that the car was going to be delayed even longer I starting looking at the corvette. I decided to trade the Porsche in on the Vette and pay the difference which turned out to be about $35K. So now I have one fast car that serves both purposes. It was half the money out of pocket and now i only have to insure one expensive vehicle instead of two. It also made the storage situation easier. Also you can insure a Corvette through the National Corvette Museum for half the price that the Hellcat would be. I also saved a lot by on sales tax by trading in my Porsche. I have no trouble getting in and out of the Corvette, I am still pretty spry. I got the corvette for below MSRP instead of above. It always bugged me to have to pay over sticker. Sticker price is bad enough. Some guys have said they messaged me but I cannot seem to get to my messages. I can be emailed at [email protected]. If I can help someone to get this car I would be happy to do whatever I can. The telephone number is 732-387-2600 ask for Mark. He is the sales manager. Sorry to be a turncoat, and nothing at all against Hellcats, but I do love the Z. Best of luck to all and I guess I am now banished to the Corvette forum.

HELLTOGET,

We all have decisions to make in life and must make the best ones for us, sounds like you have done the same. You got a beautiful car ... enjoy it! Thank you, very much, for posting the information on the HellCat you have on order, hopefully someone else here can scoop that Cat up! If you decide to exit this forum, then take care, and good luck in all you do!
