I ordered a new regular WB Hellcat and was wondering how the stock 6.2 L Hellcat motor is holding up on Hellcats that have higher mileage? With no major issues. Since the Hellcats came out. In 2015.
I missed out on ordering a new Redeye. The Redeye has stronger forged internals, bigger blower, more HP and a few other upgrades stock.

I just got my Redeye a couple weeks ago and sold my 2015 Hellcat the next day with 112K miles on it. Just the most trouble free car I’ve ever had. Regular oil changes and plenty of tires. Aside of that, the list is short. Left and right front wheel speed sensors at about $35 a piece. A battery after 5 years. One set of front brake pads. And all the free recall items. Just an incredible car. That’s why I bought another almost like it. 😁

That’s awesome man!

I wish I ordered a new WB Redeye a few months ago but I guess I wasn’t ready. It sucks we can’t order those anymore as far as I know.
If it takes too long for my ‘22 Hellcat to come in. I’m gonna be the first to order a ‘23 Redeye. Lol….
I like the SS a lot too but the only thing I don’t like are the 18 inch wheels. The Wide bodies need 20 in.

I put 18k on my 2020 and it went through 2 batteries and the driver side exhaust flange at the catalytic converter rattled itself loose. Other than that, nothing major mechanically went wrong with the engine or drivetrain.

I sold my 2016 Hellcat with 28K miles on it, plenty of spirited driving at 892whp and didn't have any issues other than several torn axle boots.

They seem reliable from all reports but keep in mind I haven’t seen any with 200k+ miles because they aren’t driven like a Camry or work truck. And yeah they only been out since 2015.

Anyone have or heard of a 200k+ mile hellcat?

My Hellcat is a 2015. While admittedly low mileage, it has yet to need other than oil changes and has never been to a dealer. That's pretty good for the number of years that have passed, especially for being a first year Hellcat. I attribute that to it never being modded.

i put 60k on my 2015 with no major issues. the only non-warranty problem i had was with a power steering line. so far i've put 25k miles on my 2019 with zero problems.

Its not the older hellcats you need to worry about. Its the newer ones. The "Covid" cars. I had nothing but problems with my 21. Sold it a few months after I got it. The 21+ cars are going to have a much higher failure rate on parts due to QC being lowered on parts that would normally not make it on cars. But with part shortages all over the world, QC standards have been lowered and parts are getting through QC when before the shortages they would be labled FAIL.

My car had bad fuel pump, and both axles started leaking almost right away. After the fuel pump I still had some fueling issue that the dealer never was able to figured out. I turned to the aftermarket to see if a tune would help and learned some very scary things about the 21+ cars.

Mainly the Cat over temp thresholds and how the car acts when you hit those thresholds were lowered and sharpened substantially. The car is now programmed to basically dump all your boost and fall on its face if it hits the cat over temp. Which it will basically every time you make a pass or a pull. Verified all this with HP Tuners logs. I have several hours of logs and I made a thread about it here.

I have buddies with other 21 and 22 cars starting to see the same issue with cat over temp since summer is here now. I was seeing the issue over winter here in FL where it was still hot, but now that the rest of the country is in summer and guys are now going to the track, you are going to see more threads - "Went to the track and low mph" or "Car seems to be falling on its face at WOT"...

Its coming. You'll see.

If I were to buy another hellcat, it would be 2020 or even a 2019 most likely. The new calibration came out late 2020 and is standard on all 2021+ hellcats.

You will also be given this new calibration if you do the CAT recall where they swap out your cats for new ones and reflash the car. Thats when you will have the new COT thresholds and changes that basically make this car unusable in any substantial heat. So summer...

It’s my experience that a 2019 hellcat is your best bet. You get the option to have one of the new direct connect packages and if not you have the most current platform before the EPA stepped in and forced dodge to gimp these cars. They are no longer the bullet proof burnout machines they used to be.

I am a fan of any of the earlier ones, but that's just me. I could of upgraded but stuck with my m6 2015 because it just was so perfect. Jay Leno settled on an m6 2016 and obviously can do whatever he prefers. Just like 70/71 E-Bodies are the purest. My Hellcat is under a recall to lower it's emissions and I won't let a dealer touch it.

Thanks for letting us know. I just hope more guys would post if their new Hellcats have any problems. The ‘21 and ‘22s.
