I haven’t really posted here much but I originally posted my first build on Challenger Talk. I figured this build was unique enough to post here for you guys to see. It’s amazing what these cars are capable of!

I HIGHLY recommend DBR Performance, I’ve built several cars and I’m very happy with how everything has gone. The entire team at DBR has put so much into this car! This wasn’t the first build on the car either, at 75 miles on the odometer we brought it in and built a 1200whp whipple 2.9 car and then drove it 500 miles or so and decided to make the swap to twin turbos and go even further!

So we’ve finally ALMOST completed the build of our Hellion Twin Turbo Scat yesterday. All we need to install now is the Demon Killer springs and the 17s I had made from Triumph.

We decided on Hellions new twin 76s and they are AMAZING. We’ve tried all of them there and these put out some major power. When comparing this to the Whipple set up I was blown away. I made 200 more HP with the turbos at the same boost level as the Whipple! 😳

There is a lot of information on this build and if anyone has any questions, please ask away and I’ll do my best to give the answers and what was apart of the build.

Performance Shop/Tuner: DBR Performance
Engine Builder: Inertia Motorsports (Fully built 6.5)
Transmission Builder: Paramount (Fully Built HP70)
Tuner Software: HP Tuners
Turbo System: Hellion
Turbos: Hellion Twin 76s
Intake: Demon Performance
Throttle Body: Kong Performance
Wheels: Triumph Performance 22s and 17s
Tires: 315/50/17 MT Street R and Toyo R888R
Injectors: ID 1700s
Exhaust: DBR did a custom 3.5 from the turbo outlet back to vibrant 1794s before exiting the tips. Between the turbos and the tips there are dump valves installed to allow maximum HP. Amazing sound, no X or H pipe.
Boost Controller: CO2 (Boost Leash w/scramble)
Interchiller: FI Interchillers
Fuel System: Fore Innovations Triple Pump
Fuel: Ignite E-85
Heads: Big Gas Heads

DBR Dyno Video - 1630whp

This was such a huge accomplishment for us! We wanted to see what we could do with a Scat vs. a hellcat build and it didn’t disappoint. The motor is good for around 2000hp but the transmission is definitely the weak link here. We honestly expected the HP70 to fail right away above 1500whp and 1300lbs of torque. We know it won’t last long but I am going to drive it until it fails and then do a TH400 swap.

The engine was very happy. Each time we added about one lbs of boost we were getting around 40ish hp per/lb. We didn’t want to necessarily stop at 1630 but we did for now until we have a better trans! So we achieved 1630whp with 30lbs of boost @6500 rpm. It was such a great feeling watching all of the work come together! I’m sure I missed out on a lot but if I missed anything please ask away! I’m hoping next week I’ll have another update after driving it some. Just a few more things to wrap up and we will be ready for the streets!

I am impressed…but.. this car will never run even close to what the dyno sheet suggests it should . This car is nothing but a marketing presentation .Rob Goss/BES/HP make double the power with a Gen3 so this is not difficult or new. sorry to pee in the pool.. sorta..
I just wanted to build something unique and different, everyone always asks why I didn’t just start with a hellcat… I guess I wanted more of challenge! If I wanted to build a straight up drag car that would be a bit different… I’ll take 1600+ for a street car!

Is the built HP70 as good as a built HP90? What did Bill Schurr tell you it was good for?😆 Are you going with the stock rear end? Did not see any upgrades listed.

We don’t really know what the trans is good for in all honesty. I just know that it can’t last at that power level at all. I know that we put every upgrade into it that’s possible and the option of doing a HP90 swap wasn’t worth it.

Th cradle is locked and is braced. The rear end is stock, if I turn it up that much at the track then we will need to make a few upgrades. Not really looking to make it an all out drag car, yet…

Bill at Paramount told me not to do the swap. He also said 1000 was it for my 70. I am gonna trust him. If it makes more than 1000 I’ll turn it down. If the 70 blows I will put something other than a ZF in it : )
