I decided to stay mostly stock since I plan to get a HC in the future, but I also want to get a tune to try and squeeze out some power for the time being. Does anyone currently have or has had experience with a hemitune on their SRT392 or scat pack?

I never went through with it but I was contemplating doing it... but suddenly ended up selling my car. From what I heard is that on the 392 the tune really doesn't benefit you much unless you go full bananas FBO (Catless, intake, and cam) and tune it with the bolt ons. Even then you'll be spending a couple grand in parts and labor and not get too much out of it. The 392 is optimized from factory and unlike the Camaro SS and Mustang GT Coyote the aftermarket performance wise is not very strong and cost effective unfortunately for us 392 guys. Best bet is to stay stock IMO and get the hellcat in time.

There is this "dip" with 392s on a dynograph that I would mainly be getting a tune for, unless its pointless without mods as well.

I could be wrong but I believe a tune with a bigger throttle body and ported intake manifold would fix that small dip and give a few extra HP. Again cost to gain ratio is not in our favor with this platform. If you feel inclined to do it by all means go for it but its a lot of money to spend for very little gains. Even boost isn't very effective on this platform sadly as only 6-8 PSI can safely be run on a stock 392 and that is over 10k minimum that route.
