Firstly,
I hadnāt ever been a DODGE person, Iāve beefed up Camaros and Mustangsā¦then I got into Mercedes AMG and BMWā¦then Infiniti, I was sold on the AWD and stoplight to stoplight quickness. Dodge had dropped the ball for a while in the late 90s and early 2Gsā¦Intrepids were grossā¦lolololol AND front wheel drive š¤®
ā¦.butā¦.
WTF!!!!
Why didnāt anyone mention that the resurgence of Mopar Muscle was a real thing?!?!?
I was looking for a 7 seater (I got kiddos ā½) and my X5 had been reliable, fast and had great drivability so I was leaning that way or Infiniti QX80. But last year was weird for the car market and lots of stuff just wasnāt available. I expanded my search š and I came across a low mileage 2019 Durango R/T ā¦blk on blk on blk⦠tow package, captain seats in the middle rowā¦5.7L 360+ hp ā¦well made vehicle.
I was surprised. I figured, āthrow some FLOWMASTERSā on it and itāll work. Boy has it ever! I love this suv, I can only imagine what the HELLCAT version is like. My only knock is Iād have liked the BREMBO brake setup (any info on conversion would be appreciated)
Fast forward one year and I consider getting an older muscle car to scoot around town in⦠Iām thinkin ā68 Mercury Cougar, ā73 Maro, ā73 Caprice Classic with the 454 (DONK) or ā67-68 Mustang with the engine swapped newer 5.0 and digital dash upgradeā¦Iād have taken a Mustang Cobra š or Grand National (honorable mention)
My budget was about 35kā¦I shop online like most people and Iām a weirdo so I click on random crap..so I saw a CHALLENGER SCATPACK (one had parked next to me at the mall and it wasnāt really on my radar then) so I click on the Scat and I become interested instantly.
I call the dealership and Iām literally ready to swipe my card but the douche makes it difficult so I move on. I find a Hellcat and I think itās impractical, but whatever š I click on it and itās outside my price range but the finance manager calls me and promises to get me in it. He does, but I hate the terms so I gave up.
I had clicked another link and the dealership called..since I was already in the frying pan š³ I rolled the diceā¦the terms were outside my comfort zone but the dealership delivered it to my job the next day. Iām so happy I didnāt get a SCAT (no offense, scats are lit š„ af) I just didnāt realize the notoriety associated with HELLCATS
MIND BLOWN š¤Æ
and the car is immaculate. 2016 6-speed 4400 miles š GO MANGO
and the powerššššššš
most Iāve ever had and itās DOPE and surprisingly drivable
Iām really stoked
