I have a question that I hope someone can help me with. My battery died over the winter. I took the positive cable off and charged it. When I try to put the cable back on the horn honks. I took it off because when I tried to charge it with the cable on there was loud clicking under the hood. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Replace the battery. More than likely it's done. These cars are very particular about exact voltage and will act strange if the battery is not up to par. Dont cheap out and try to revive a weak battery with these cars.

I agree with Slowpoke. I had my battery die while in storage and it quickly started getting worse to where it wouldn't hold a charge for one week. New battery and I've been good to go since.

Keep us updated with your solution.
get a new battery, preferably an AGM .....& when not driving it more than a week or 2.... keep a battery maintainer on it.....

It's also interesting that you've been a member on here for over 8 years and just now made your first post in the new member introductions. That's kind of strange. I guess it took a while to build up your confidence to make that first post.

And since this is the "New Member Introduction" section: Welcome to Hellcat.org!

Usually what happens is that the battery gets a dead cell and when you try to hook it up it shorts itself out. Things can go crazy in a car when trying to hook one of these dead ones up. It even happened on my Escalade. I got 2 words for you. Battery tender.

When I joined, I did 40 somewhat frivolous posts so I could use the Marketplace section.

^^^^LOL - exactly. I think Gary finally got the courage to speak at this "Mopar's anonymous" forum. OK everyone together now -

Hi, Gary

Remember: A Mopar-aholic is someone who cannot stop smiling when hitting the gas pedal, no matter what they do. They are beyond human aid — they are hopeless — powerless to stop.

The stock battery on my 2003 Mustang Cobra lasted for 10 years because during winter storage I always put a maintainer on it. And of course last winter I put a maintainer on my Hellcat too.
maintainers make all the difference if its not a daily driver....

Some people are just forum lurkers until they have a need to ask something. Nothing wrong with that.
