Anybody else notice this is missing from the 2022 options page that was available for the 2021 cars?
It does not “come with it”. Without “it” the Super Stock is limited to a top speed of 168mph. In 21 if you clicked that box you had an unregulated top speed.Doesn’t matter it comes with the car either way, why they ever had that up on there in the first place probably was to fill dead space/or create the illusion of more options, but it definitely was in the right place “no man’s zone” next to the engine heater
Did you get as an official statement or just some yahoo at a dealer? source pleaseIt does not “come with it”. Without “it” the Super Stock is limited to a top speed of 168mph. In 21 if you clicked that box you had an unregulated top speed.
‘That option is gone now most likely due to safety regulations of drag radials on all 4 corners.
Why didnt the Demon get this option then? Weird, Ive never heard of that option before.I wouldn’t say gypped. You’d have a hard time in court with a car that has tires that are not rated for the speed of the car you are selling to the public.
It was never intended to run 168+ down a highwayWhy didnt the Demon get this option then? Weird, Ive never heard of that option before.
It was an option for 0$ that made my eyebrows confusingly squint and I really didn’t question it much at the time with it being dodge and all. here’s an old screenshotWhy didnt the Demon get this option then? Weird, Ive never heard of that option before.
I was thumbing through a few past posts on this. On the Challenger SRT forum a member did try to order the 2021 Super Stock without the controller in early 21 (name is rollieman) - I have no idea why it ever showed up as an option to configure it’s terrible usability and causes confusion. His dealer did say they thought if you chose not to have it would come with different tires. After the order SRT sent him this:This is bullcrap. No way did Dodge allow you to specify a Calibration that would be unsafe. UNLESS, when you specified this option, it also came with RedEye tires and wheels. Or, I would beleive this if you clicked on "more info" and it specified in there that the 168MPH limit was eliminated. HoggWash. Don't come back without proof.
That’s all I was trying to say initially….bump me Ron 👊I was thumbing through a few past posts on this. “Just got this from Dodge:
The "High Speed Engine Controller" shown as a N/C option for the 2021 Super Stock on the Dodge Build & Price website is actually NOT an option after all, it's standard on all SS models. REF Sales Code NZH. Apparently shown for administrative purposes only.
There's no special wheel & "Y" rated tire package that allows a SS to reach 203 MPG like the Red Eye as some have assumed/hoped it might be.
It's function is to limit top speed @ 168 MPH due to the tire limitation of the factory equipped drag radials.”
Net is as anticipated: no 203mph Super stock from the factory! Just a flawed configuration process from Dodge.
B O O M !That’s all I was trying to say initially….bump me Ron 👊
