Interesting article it's important for everyone here to know by the end of this Gen there will be at least 15,000 hellcats made between the charger challenger and rumored jeep.
While this car is very exciting and nice it will not be considered rare or a good investment in the end. Get the car for the love of the car and the drive.
I'm as excited as any one (obsessed my wife calls it)but I can't see spending anything over msrp in 2 years our awesome hell cats will most likely be able to be had for 45-50k used. It's like throwing money away And maybe it's just that I'm not a millionaire but a 30k needless loss of money in 2 years is alot.

I agree anyone paying over MSRP is on drugs.
Do you remember the gouging on the SRT-8 300C my dealer told me they will make just a few and thats why we want 10k over the MSRP of 58k. Well just over a year later i bought same car with 5500 miles on it for $32.500
So i guess in a year or bit more i hope to buy a Charger HC for about $45k

I went on Edmunds to sign up, and provided my email address to local dealerships in SoCal. And in a matter of minutes, hours, and days, I was bombarded with a plethora of dealers from all over the state of California. Over the last few weeks I've been responding to most of them, and letting them know that I will only buy from a dealer that will honor the MSRP... So far I have yet to get a response from any of them. Some I've flat out told that I have no problem buying one out of state if it meant getting it at MSRP. If anything it's better to do it that way, because I could use that distance to break it in before I get it home.

I would in a heart beat take a few days off for a road trip to pick up a new hellcat at msrp even if the trip costed me 1k I with plane ride there. The memory of that trip is worth it.

but there never will be the FIRST Charger HellCat 2015. plus Dodge will only make 1200 of these and not 15000 charger hellcats. idea to build Dodge Charger hellcat was not to sell and make money, it was to market the Charger brand and at large the whole Dodge brand. there is a youtube video of the Dodge CEO explaining the whole thing. so there will be no 2016 model charger HellCat. even those who will get the delivery in 2016, car will be 2015 Charger HellCat.. i will try to locate that youtube video to send. plus indeed its a rare car. im already getting offers from Dubai for $105,000 plus they pay shipping.. i dont think iam interested, i had to wait long time to enjoy it. Dubai people can keep buying lambo or something else, i will ride my Cat and enjoy

awesome video One I haven't seen yet. Tho tim says in it that he will let the market determine how many model years it's made and that the 1200 number is false.
the 2018's are allready being talked about.

17:56 minutes he does say its not going to be 1200 units. i heard it wrong.. but still there will never be another "first" Charger HellCat.. world's fastest production sedan with the engine code named HellCat.
20:13 minutes, it says when sold in 2016, model year will be 2015.
21:10 minutes, explains the business case of hellcat.

I'm going to disagree with this type of statement for once. Usually I agree with this theory, however, this is like nothing I have witnessed before in my car buying life. Not to this level on a car manufactured by "normal" every day manufacturer of vehicles.

15,000 units in today's world is going to be considered rare. Quick, how many 2006-2010 Jeep SRTs do you see running around on the road? Not many, and I'd bet that many here who aren't near bigger cities haven't even driven by one on the street before. A lot of people at gas stations, etc., still don't know what they are. There were only 14,921 made in 5 model years. The days of 3,000-5,000 total cars are gone. R&D and manufacturing just cost too much for them to build only a few thousand. If you want that you're going to have to go McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc.

When all is said and done though I see 20-25k Hellcats built to include Challenger and Charger.
