Is this something new? Please forgive me if this has been addressed and I could not find it.

I often let the HC warm up for a couple minutes in the driveway but this new 22 RE beeps at me when I exit the vehicle (fob in my pocket). (My 20 does not do this.)

Is there an easy way to deactivate this?

I don't think there is a way to deactivate it.
I think the only way around it is a remote start.

So you manually start it and then get out of the car with it running? Not a good idea as your car can now be stolen and driven away. So it's probably the car telling you this is a bad idea. Just remote start it, then the car is secure.

LOL! In most places you are absolutely correct! But my driveway is 2000' long and around here if I shoot an AR, nobody cares. If they call the PD they are told "sorry ma'am, nothing we can do". It is a different world here.

Same here! It's nice. My driveway is almost 1/4 mile long, house & garage are in the woods, and I have my own shooting range. PERFECT!!

my 2022 Challenger jailbreak does it as well......had car running got out to open a building door i was going into about 10 ft away and it beeped several times as well.....my 2021 never did this so its new for 2022 !! Probably just letting you know you have left car still running??

It's in the settings. Mine always did it and I found something in the settings that I turned off, for the life of me I can't remember off the top of my head how I did it but I promise you it can be done.

It stops beeping though, right? My ‘21 Scat does not do this - I’m hoping my ‘22 JB isn’t too annoying, as I hop out with the vehicle running on occasion. I just lock the doors with the button on the door handle before walking away.

My '21 TRX does the same thing, or did anyway. I turned it off in the settings. It also dings inside the cab continuously which can be annoying if you left it running with others sitting inside. Flashes a FOB Undetected message on the center cluster as well. I just am in the habit of throwing the FOB in the cup holder if I am leaving others in the cab while its running.

Wifes SUV does it as well, and in that case it has saved me a few times. I dont normally carry my key to her vehicle but she likes me to drive most the time so I will be driving with her key in her purse. She will get out to go in somewhere while I park etc. it beeps when she gets 10 or so feet away as well so can definitely see the benefit of it in certain instances.

Ya, I’m guessing the millennials that wrote the code spec assumed people who drive HC’s don’t notice that they left the car running! If they make a 23 M6 you probably won’t be able to open the door if it’s in gear!

My 20 does the ding inside and it annoys the crap out of my wife! I'll see if I can fix both in Settings, thanks.

Been here almost 30 years and we're not going anywhere soon. People from the other side of the political tracks have attempted a "noise ordinance", it was withdrawn after a huge public backlash. I have 4 ranges, 7-50y, 100y, trap/skeet, and Steel Challenge. The trap/skeet is overgrown, haven't used it in over a decade.

Now with all the remote work available, many more people can do this, unfortunately land availability has become a problem.

From what I’ve read if you have a 2021 and older you can disable the horn honking when you get out of the vehicle and shut the door with your key fob in your pocket. For 2022 it’s an added safety feature that cannot be disabled.
