any one knows about horse power during break in period?
With my 2018 Hellcat I didn't find anything in the owners manual or the drive mode supplement manual regarding this.
Due to liability reasons I doubt Dodge would limit HP at any time. The exception is if one uses the
black key. This is clearly a different color and one knows that by using it power is limited.
There is some at least potential loss of power, of more accurately, a potential the engine may not make full power but this is not through any hanky panky by the engine controller. It is the result from the engine being new and from this having more friction than a broken in engine. Thus peak or max power might be less than what is advertised but with proper break in it will happen. Even without proper break in it will happen. The difference is with improper break in the engine develops max power sooner but it will experience a decrease in max power sooner.
This is not to say at mile 100 it makes max . power and at mile 101 it shows a decrease in power. For a specific engine and break in procedure only lab (dyno?) testing can determine when max power is obtained and then when it starts to fall off.
