How accurate is the Engine/Dyno Performance Page

My cat has never shown close to 700, closer to 600. always wondered if it was the car, the gauge or more likely that I'm at almost 6000 ft. I only get 9 pounds of boost and it looks like you're at 10. What is your elevation? Might be hard to do but if you could find another HC durango or TH you could use your " butt dyno" to see. I"ve never had an opportunity to drive another hellcat.

I'm going to see if I can drive a Trackhawk from a local SRT Group I'm part of. I've never driven any Hellcat vehicle aside from this one. I've heard very mixed results though. Some people are blown away, some people say the power is so smooth it's uneventful and not what they thought 710hp would be either (or whatever they make). It doesn't feel all that different from my old SRT. What's weird is shifting from 3-4 or 4-5 it almost falls on it's face during the shift. It's not smooth and freight train pulling through it like I imagined.

I grew up and still do ride extremely strung out 2 stroke motors with light switch powerbands. Maybe that's why I'm not overwhelmed. It's just completely different than what I pictured it being
I had a 15 srt challenger before my 16 hellcat and the difference was definitely noticeable but I think its more at the top end (high speed) where the power really shines and pulls so much harder. Sounds like you may have just had higher expectations from all the hype or it may have a problem? A chance to drive the TH will tell you alot.

With a good DA of about 500 and the full 11.7 psi of boost, the Trackhawk is around 585 whp. I'd assume the Durango would be similar with equal drivetrain losses. That 508 whp showing on the performance pages could be accurate if he is at elevation and seeing a 1.7 psi of boost loss.
I've seen posts on the subject of performance page hp and some cars show the 700 hc or 800 for redeye. I've heard the gauge shows whp by some and crank from others, so not sure which it shows. But for sure, like you said, a couple lbs of lost boost will hurt hp like mine.

Yeah, I hope this isn't the case. What a let down that would be. I'm hoping something is up. It almost seems like programming is bad at certain RPMs. I don't know if that could be the case.... I did post in the SRT group and it looks like I might have a chance to drive a TH shortly here.

91 octane wouldn't be an issue would it?
I'm definitely not an expert but I think 91 is fine, wouldn't think 93 would be an earth shattering difference. 91 is all we get here and all I've used. And 1000 ft shouldn't be a huge difference. Just throwing this out here but how many miles? I don't remember but is HP limited before break in? Maybe some one can chime in. I know it sucks to take a new ride to dealer but worst case you have a warranty and will get it figured out. Search forum for break in or performance page threads here on the forum. BTW, welcome and congrats! HC durango is a bad a$$ ride!

Ok well I got some information.....

After going to my dealer (was helpful) and explaining what was going on they took a look.

Apparently there is a software issue with some of the Hellcat motors/Valet mode. The software bug can keep the vehicle in valet mode without knowing except there being a loss of power. The update/fix hasn't been released yet. But it does seem like this could be my issue...maybe... They did disconnect my battery but I honestly had no where to even try to open it up since it seems the entire state of MN was out driving today.

Edit: I just spoke with the SRT Specialist Group. Engineering is still working on this. It may be an OTA update or it may require you to go into the dealer to have the update completed. They're going to notify me once there's an ETA on the update as I opened a case on it.

I'm glad they didn't blow you off as some crazy guy and are trying to figure it out. Not sure about the durango hellcat but in my 16 valet mode limits the car to around 300 hp and 4000 rpm, also cancels launch control and 1st gear in automatics. I tried it once in mine and it was pathetic. It would eventually get up to highway speed but it was more of a curiosity thing and to see if gas mileage improved but it didn't, at least as far as the real time computer said. Tried to verify 300/4000 in my owners manual but didn't find it.
