Hey guys, I’m buying a used 2016 Hellcat and I am interested in all the drive modes and plan on spending some time figuring it out. That being said I wanna figure them out as if they were still set from the factory. That and the launch mode can be adjusted somewhat as I hear as well… So please guys if you know how to reset all this stuff to factory can you let me know it was a thing I requested from the dealer. I just didn’t wanna inherit someone else’s drive modes. Or a guy who test drove it. My ocd would never let me rest lol. Thanks a bunch everyone

And while we’re at it.. if any one has a definitive guide to how they work. Like sport mode will stick to the ground as best it can and be stiff suspension … another mode is comfy for driving down the highway and will stick the road and handle… and another one will fishtail all over the place if you want it to……

Ps… if you wanna have it breaklose regardless of the mode is it ideal to turn traction control off… sorry guys for all the stupid questions they’re not coming out quite right. That and I’m not buying it at dodge so these guys can’t give me any guidance with these modes at all… just wanna have it set up for donuts in the parking lot, racing a guy, and comfort driving is how I should put it lol

Go here with your VIN and download all your manuals: Official Mopar Site | Owner's Manual

Make sure you get the Drive Modes Manual.

Sport Mode turns off Traction Control. Track Mode turns off both Traction Control & Stability Control. You'll see the status of these controls on your cluster.

Street (Auto) is all Street, Sport is all Sport & Track is all Track... these are the Defaults. You can set up Custom to whatever you want. The car always starts in Auto/Default Mode; pressing the SRT Button on the Center Dash twice is 10-seconds triggers Custom Mode & Custom Mode remains until you either change it or you turn off the engine. You can also adjust all the modes while driving... carefully so as not to have an accident from distracted driving, but the any changes are instantaneous... you can feel the change.

Attached is Center Screen Setup. I especially like to set the Transmission Mode to show the gear number when in Automatic. It's called "Current Gear."

Don't worry about Launch Control; learn to use both feet. Left foot brake and right gas; bring RPM up to 1,000 and let go of the brake pedal and accelerate slowly. Keep adjusting RPMs up until the tires break loose and reduce RPMs a little. The real skill of driving this car is learning to accelerate at a rate that keeps the rear tires hooked up; you slip you lose!

Doing burnouts is idiotic.

Learn how to use the Paddles (up & down) in conjunction with the Shifter.

Just set them to your own preferences. Prob solved no?
My preferred mode is Custom. Trans in Track, everything else in Street. Best overall combo for most typical driving conditions, at least for me. Maybe try that.

Hey, Slo. I gave it a try at your settings for a while. I still go back to Sport on transmission and everything else in Street. It really livens up those 3.09's IMO. It's addicting and sounds like you're driving a locomotive. Wifey hates it but I love it lol.

Nice. I just happen to love the trans in Track, keeps the R's in the power longer is all. Much fun with 3.09's.

I don’t know what they are yet lol If they reset them selves to what they were originally after each trip then I can use one mode see what I like, and go from there. Being left with someone else’s ideas isn’t what I’m after if possible.

You are overthinking this. Spend some time with the manuals and sitting in the car, ignition in the RUN position, engine off, going thru the screens.

When you shut the engine off, the Drive Mode reverts back to Auto. On restart, you can select Custom Mode when ready per my comment above.

Also, when you first start the car, watch the screen (bottom center)... you'll have 5 - 10 seconds to choose the Drive Mode you want (you can also choose your seat heat/cool & your steering wheel heat on this screen as well). You have to press the button enough times to cycle thru the Drive Modes; once you are done or hesitate, that last shown Drive Mode is active.

Launch control can be adjusted in the tune. Or are you just asking about raising about raising and lowering launch rpm?
