Like the title says I have two loves Hellcats and 1911's. The problem is they are both expensive mistresses. Anyone else have this dilemma. :(

I an a HUGE Dan Wesson fan! I enjoy many flavors of the Dan Wesson line!
My V-Bob is my favorite 1911 for carry. Just an incredible gun. Just an incredible shooter. A gun I trust my life to.

Sold my 1911 Gold cup last year(shot it for 20 years and sold it for what i paid for it).....got a FNX Tactical w/ a holographic sight on it, threaded barrel, night sights.......if you shot the FNX you'd sell your Colt 1911.....15 rounds, 33% less kick than your 1911, weighs less and ill bet i could match your accuracy or beat it.....on rapid fire i could shoot 2x as fast with the halo sight and less kick

1911 is cool, but just like old school muscle.....new school runs circles around it.....

keep your 7 round, heavy, bad kicking Mo Fo.......ill take my 2014 FNX with 15 rounds, light, barely kicking
I love my FNX tactical in FDE. I also have a trijicon rmr on it. Amazing fighting gun. But not practical for me to carry like a 1911 riding in a nice holster. A rig like this is .45 cal and still doesn't print.

Reloading is a great hobby. I don't know if it saves money, but you shoot more for the same money.

You can brass rat around at your local club, buy powder in bulk & grab some economical projectiles. Before you know it you're shootin a lot & learning tons.

I have a Dillon 550, it works beyond great & the support is second to none.

FN 5.7 is an amazing gun. Another one I love to carry. Get yourself some factory 30 round mags. Then load these in it.

Will go through 3 level 3A vests like butter and still fatal.
Just finished my first 300 BLK pistol a few weeks ago, what a blast to shoot! Waiting for SBR stamp as well as my suppressor to be released from "NFA jail":(

Really want the suppressor, but tax, registry and overall cost versus benefit make me hesitant. It is fun as hell to shoot with though.

Not to hijack the thread, but any recommendations on fire resistant safes? I've got my nightstand safe for the 1911, but curious what others recommend for rifles and ammo.
my buddy ordered one of the first Imported Arsenal Firearms 2011s... I was excited to get to shoot it... kept stovepiping after 5th round.. in the end i was MEH on shooting it.. it was neat but too much, and too much to hold onto..

I have fired .50 Cals while in the military. Shoot through 1/2 inch plate armor from 1 mile away. We were always afraid that one of these would be used to fire on one of the Air Force Tanker aircraft that came and went from our base. KC-135s and KC-10s. They were big slow targets taking off full of JP4.

Abe,

Are you using steel jacketed rounds? If so try using brass jacketed rounds. My Beretta Storm PX4 40 S&W would always stovepipe when I used steel jacketed rounds. Switched to brass jacketed rounds and it never stovepiped again!

A-10 Gatling Gun is an amazing gun. I went to a few demonstration of what it could do at Red Flag at Nellis Air Force Base. The 30 mm round went through the turret of a M-60 tank like a hot knife through butter.

The bottom shell is from the A-10. Plus it is depleted uranium.

Check out the video, AC/DC Thunderstruck!

OK, 1911's are sweet and pretty, and naturally great shooters. I have even learned to tune them myself so they are more reliable.

However, there is only one pistol I want when planning to raid Hell to kidnap Hitler's ghost to stand trial...

And it will be my Glock 17 EDC (Every Day Carry).

When not on my hip, it spends it's life rarely more than 2 feet from me, and with my custom holster I can even wear it in my swim trunks. Checks in at 2lbs, 1 ounce, fully loaded with 18 rounds of 124+P 9mm.

VanishingPoint,

I saw one of the Challenger's used in the movie Vanishing Point in a car museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. It was a 426 Hemi.

Agree, I'm collecting my brass. Just need to invest in the equipment to load them. I've been told it can be difficult at times to get all the supplies needed though.
components are a problem to find. I know many people in the industry that hook me up, rarely do I pay retail for anything. ;)

Takes about 6 months right now for the stamp, I try and always have one in process.

Working up some .300BLK Out loads 210-220 grain sub, 135-160 super
Next up grade on this is full floating hand guard.
