That’s what I’m afraid of but I don’t see why the demand would be that high. It’s the same car as the last 8 years, just the last year building.
As I've said before, I have 6 cash customers I'm brokering deals with and between them, they're buying at least 23 2023 Redeyes. I assume I am not unique and that in 2023, the big money buyers are going to be doing exactly what my clients are doing... buying everything via brokers and dealer connections at premium prices because having the cars is the important thing. Money to these people is like air to us. FWIW, 4 of my 6 clients are in Bahrain. I've got 14 cars coming through a fleet purchase and the rest I'm going to have to fulfill throughout the year.
Now, once you weed out all the big spenders, there's a horde of normal buyers who are looking to jump in on a Hellcat as a first time buyer with the goal of getting one before they're gone. Again, I'm not unique with this mindset, but aside from the ones popping up on the power locator, you may very well see Dodge sell out of the 2023s within 2-3 weeks once order banks open.
The 2023s are going to be a bloodbath. Forget about finding a good deal. There will be a few to be had, but the bigger challenge will just be getting one, of any kind. Remember, Dodge is not GM or Ford. They don't have the ability to produce tens of thousands of these cars. I'd be surprised if they made more than 6-7 thousand in total. Excluding the DDHC, Dodge generally builds around 5,000 units of all Hellcats and Redeyes in total. I'm assuming they'll try and over produce for 2023.
