Installed the brake air deflectors today. With photos...and some spelling tips

Or as Dodge calles them "AIR DEFLCETORS" . Ugh. Pretty straightforward once you get the car on stands and take the front wheels off. The only deviation from the instructions I suggest is that you install them about an inch and a half from the bump on the arm and not 3/4 of an inch. If you try to do the 3/4 of an inch route, you will break the "DEFLCETOR" when you tighten it down because the arm curves slightly due to a thickening of the metal in that area.

Wow that looks like a pretty simple install.
Just make sure you have that special Snap-On 10mm Deflcetor wrench handy.

i need to go look at mine i doubt these were ever installed. the pedal covers i found in a box in the trunk when i bought it assuming these were probably tossed
How appropriate.
What do you mean? It's the perfect material. Doesn't retain heat like a metal piece would. The air deflectors I use on my Viper race car were procured from a Porsche 911 Turbo application and they are flexible ABS plastic held onto the lower control arms with overpriced hose clamps (and spider webs).

They are made of ABS plastic on all cars from Porsche, Lambo, Ferrari... Even my Mustang GT had these in the same material.

Is this literally a piece of plastic?
Polyethylene terephthalate (PETE or PET) Back in the day, we just called it Yamu.........

ABS is short for Anti-lock Braking System, also.
...and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene

You need to upgrade the under engine shield on older models for these to function as intended.

and the rear engine shield changes part #s as well

WTF? Are those supposed to channel air toward the rotor?? #Joke
So these don't come standard on Hellcats?
This is a performance upgrade to help keep the disc brakes cool?

My HC did not come with air deflectors, but also the 22RE has air vents on the panel that covers the oil cooler. The vents route air and direct them at the wheels. My guess is the deflectors complement these new vents. The down side is that you can no longer install a oil cooler drain access panel.
