Those that saw my other thread about a month ago saw my stripes that looked like a drunk person installed them. Figured I'd give it a try as the best quote I got was $1750 to have it done. Bought 2 rolls of knifeless tape and 50 square feet of material. About $400.

Funny thing. I asked the pros if they could match the factory style where the pattern goes to the middle. They all said not possible as you need custom printed material. I found if you just rotate the material 90 degrees before cutting it works. Go figure.

So, this is hard tedious work. 4 hours in and have the back done though. Not perfect but not almost 2 grand. Nervous about the roof though being so long. Fingers crossed.

Progress so far.

Stripes weren’t available when I ordered my 2022 Redeye Charger so I was looking on eBay and it looks like you can buy precut stripes for Hellcats. Not real expensive either. I was thinking of going that route or check with a local shop that applied my ghost flames. They were pretty reasonable.

I was afraid of the precut as you wouldn't have any room for error. Maybe wrong assumption but that was my logic.

Tell you though. This knifeless tape is awesome when it works but starting the cut without breaking the filament is a major PITA.

Roof done. Time for hood and front bumper. Not real sure why it looks like a bubble above the driver rear head. Their isn't one and the weave looks fine 🤷‍♂️

WOW! You are an artist! Looks great!!! (No Tequila like the last guys I guess!) I have a thousand questions!

I see precut strip kits for a few hundred $. Why didn't you use them?

How did you determine where to make the cuts around the scoop?

Did you use wet or dry stripes?

How were you able to lean over the hood/roof/decklid to apply the stripes?

I ask because I just ordered a RE w/o stripes because I could not decide on a stripe color. Great job!

All done. All in about 10 hours total. Was hard work but not something I'd spend $1k plus to have done for me. Not perfect but looks better than what I pulled off.

This is awesome. For anyone wanting to know how to use knifeless tape this is a great tutorial:

Helped when I wrapped my rocker panels. Wear and tear has me doing it again next year.

I used the Avery carbon material. Was told to use it or 3M from the shops I got quotes from. It's a dry install but has air release abilities so make things easier if you get a small bubble. I only exposed a small amount of material at a time to help with laying it flat by myself.

I didn't go precut as I've heard their isn't any extra material to account for minor install issues so knowing me I'd screw it up.

I used the masking tape to help with measurements and to give me a good visual of what I was doing. Roof back I could measure things out and do minor movements but the hood and front bumper was 100% free formed to make it look right as pure straight didn't visually look right with the contours of the hood and angles of the bumper.

The hood scoop was 100 free formed as I didn't have a template so tried to mirror pictures from my car before removing the old stripes. Took me a while to get it right or ask close as I could get it.

On my two previous cars, I installed the stripes myself. Knife less tape has to be the best invention! All you need is patience and a steady hand. It definitely takes alot of time, but the end product is fantastic. On my new hellcat, I went with the factory carbon stripes. It was just easier! It was $900 (cdn) for the option. If I would have installed them, it probably would half cost half of that, but then add in your time...
