So now that we have confirmed increased HP from an intake is it now possible that we can gain a little more with a Cat back combined with the LMI? It seems to me that there is maybe a little that can be gained and if so has anyone done this and shown any measurable results. Thanks!

The OEM exhaust is basically straight thru so I wouldnt expect more than a few HP gain depending on brand..
They said the intake was perfect too. I know you are right just curious if anyone has done both and seen more than the LMI gives us.

I have both but have not had car on the dyno. It feels powerful...always has. :) One thing for sure the sound with the LMI is intoxicating. I just came back from Bondurant and after being on the track with a cat with the stock box I realized just how much more whine it has now. Subjectively it feels a bit more responsive. I wanted to test it on the track but weather deteriorated after I installed it. My car also feels faster to me than the car at Bondurant. In fact I know it is because I ran some of the performance pages at the class. That being said I run Drag Radials which is a huge advantage in straight line acceleration over the 285/35 Eagle F1 tires they run, and I have a DSS 1 piece shaft which reduces drive train loss to the wheels (albeit slightly).

Once the weather gets better I'll have it out to the strip again. Feb I'll be in Florida at Cape Canaveral for the 1 mile-2 mile event. I'll record speeds at 1/2 mile, 1 mile, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 and 2 miles. That should give us some indicator of trap speeds compared to other stock cats....but there are a lot of variables to be to scientific. I'm happy with both is the best I can give you.

I giggle like a school age kid every time I roll into the throttle with my LMI intake. That whine is addictive.

I was thinking about going to check out the Cape Canaveral event. Looks like it would be a blast and only about a hour from the shop.

You should come by! Skip from Demon Performance said he may be coming as well but I haven't talked to him in a while. Be cool if you all were there!

Can you just say my intake? Lol, I love mine, I think i just sold another hellcat owner on one. Took a guy who is still in the 500 break in for a ride with mine and he was impressed with the sound.

lol...... Even though I have been messing with this platform since 2006 and been around a while, I figure I am relatively new around here so wanted to be clear because not everyone will likely know who the heck I am. Tell your friend to shoot me a email if he has any questions. I would be more than happy to help him out and get him set up. Thanks!

I didnt test the power difference with either a drag or dyno. I can however tell you that you will not loose the whine sound you love with the lmi.
I figured wit the 3.09 gears I should be a happy camper. Anyone want a slightly used Bwoody with the harness?

I just got my car back from the dyno. Not super scientific as no 2 days are the same, but similar temp/time of year and same dyno. Car was tuned with intake, injectors pulley. Then, I installed the borla atak catback and took back. The car made less power than before. I’m not saying that it hinders performance, but the change is so minimal that the day the vehicle is dyno’d will be a bigger factor than the exhaust.

debatable, My car dyno'd at 697 WHP with just the JLT intake and Borla Cat Backs. My intentions for the dyno was a baseline before I went crazy with pulleys and tunes and stuff.

considering car stocks is usually around 640 WHP id chaulk mine up to a fluke, or a factory freak.

Cuz you measured or cuz you said so?

My car picked up at the track from exhaust (no change in tune).

If my 500 hp car liked going up to 3” why won’t a 700 hp supercharged car like it even more?

That 2 3/4 and the valves gotta go : )

*I woulda built it 3.5 if my car had power (and 3.5 or larger collector/or turbo). It is harder to prove in et, and harder yet if you run 1/8th mile, but I still saw it in the mph. Picked up 1-1.25 mph (measured) so prolly cut a couple or maybe even a few hundredths off et

Why do people not go with 4" instead? I mean, why not? I know that space is limited under the car, but, low-hp (in comparison) big rigs use twin 6" exhaust pipes.

Not really. On my old 3406 cat in my pete379 it's a single 6 inch off the turbo back to a split 6 inch pipe under the cab then out to the exhaust stacks. Twin stacks are just for looks.
