Not really. On my old 3406 cat in my pete379 it's a single 6 inch off the turbo back to a split 6 inch pipe under the cab then out to the exhaust stacks. Twin stacks are just for looks. View attachment 607866

There is no way that the twin stacks could harm performance or efficiency, though.
