I've been noticing a lot of slack coming from others in the car community in regards to our builds. Have we become the modern day "ricer"?
Is the new "ricer" the hellcat owner?

Well the corny color matching add on crap and the muffler deletes arent helping in that area lol

There's some Hellcat owners with more money than sense... but the people who give the Challenger/Charger a bad rap are the SXT and 5.7 owners, by and large. As I've said here before, at the Tallahassee C&C, there's 1-2 Hellcats other than mine that may show up (usually just mine). But, there's usually 7-8 Hellcats there. They're just 5.7 Hellcats. One of them is an SXT with SXT badges, but has an aftermarket widebody package with a 2019+ Hellcat hood. His rear window has a vinyl sticker that reads, "Do U Even BOOST?!" His car is NA.
Technically, this isn't rice. This is a donk culture thing. At least rice rods tend to still be moderately functional. Donks are just plain stupid in my book. Any car with a suspension so stiff to support wheels that size is silly. I saw a TikTok a while back of a donked Challenger going over a speed bump. When the front tires came down on the other side, the jolt cracked the windshield.
Especially when they're pretend Hellcats.

I’d say less “ricer” and more “fuckboy”. The immature, entitled retards who work retail to pay the 22% note that takes up 75% of their income on a straight piped Scat Pack or Hellcat. Dudes who bump their loud rap music at stoplights, then peel out and weave in and out of traffic because #yolo. Same dudes who put their Insta sticker on their quarter window for all the dope ass follows, and base their entire personality off of their car. Then again that could just be how the DC area is.

I'd say it's more Scat Packs than Hellcats, but yeah. Rear louvers, wicker bills, UNDERGLOW??
Let's not forget the tire stickers, fake badges, and gaudy decals.

Yeah initially I was looking into maybe a few carbon fiber pieces for the car and that led me down a rabbit hole of some seriously questionable styling idea from some people. I just hope it doesn't get any worse then what it is. I get it you know people have their own style but there's got to be a point where you look at your car and you think to yourself this is to much.
As a former C5 owner, I'll give you that, BUT it applies to All generations. Well, at least C3 and up. Corvettes at Carlisle is a sea of billet taillight louvers and extra Corvette emblems on EVERYTHING. Sadly, even the C8 is no exception. At least most Corvette owners don't drive like jackasses, which is more than I can say for the Mopar crowd.

Nailed it…it’s exactly what I think every time I hear a fart can turd box turn the corner on my street, they know where the cat lives so I have to constantly hear the show off idiots having something to prove including pickup trucks
Saw a 2008-2013 model Challenger with the giant Hellcat logo sticker on the quarter panels this past Friday on my way home. Looked like a nice car but he wouldnt pull up along side me when I was next to him at the stop light.
I think scenarios like this are far more rice/worse than just doing a donk or overkill on stickers/neons.... I have no issue with any model car wanting the "look" of a higher grade model as long as you aren't trying to claim it is as well. The 5th gen/6th gen Camaro ZL1 front clip is by far and away the best looking version of the car, and I've seen it on many Camaros. I wanted to convert my SS to a ZL1 front clip...decided to just get a ZL1 ultimately.
Dodge even sold the SRT-4 appearance package because it was such a popular look.

I've been to a few car shows this year and see all kinds of mods. I wouldn't call them "rice" but stickers, add-on body parts (spoilers, wickerbills) and lights (lots in engine compartments). This is definitly not my thing, my HC is stock aside from a catch can, but I don't fault people for wanting to make their car unique / their own. I do see a lot of "WTF" mods but a few, very few, tasteful ones also. To each his/her own.
