Hello,

On a 2016 Challanger hellcat with 10k miles, is that deeper ticking sound normal? I only really hear it from underneath the car not from the engine bay. It drives fine and doesnt have any codes, is it a knock? Injector tick? Normal? Thanks in advance

When you say codes, do you mean displayed in the dash or read from the OBDII Port?

Unsure if it matters but is it M6 or A8?

Overall it sounds normal to me. What you might be hearing is a slight exhaust leak. Hellcats are known to have occurrences of exhaust leaks at the flange and make some noise at the exhaust valve. They tend to rattle in time with the RPM, which sounds like a tick on the bottom of the car.

The car doesn't seem to be making any harsh metallic sounds like you'd get off a lifter or stuck valve. If it were, it would get louder and more pronounced under load. If the sound goes away completely under power, then it's likely the exhaust valve rattling. The flange bolts can be tightened if that's what it is. However, on my 2020, tightening the flange three different times only stopped the tick for about a week. It always rattled/shook itself back into the prior state, so after 3 months of chasing it, I let it go.

Yes it goes away under load, doesnt get louder or anything. I only noticed it recently never paid attention if it was always there and was just worried if it was a knock. But oil pressure stays fine at warm idle (37 psi) and no misfires or anything. But if its just an exhaust leak i dont mind leaving it the way it is
