Is anyone else being told that they can not lock in the OTD they gave when you built your hellcat and ready to give deposit? Dealer is now telling me that they can't lock in the OTD because manufacturer may change costs on invoice and is not up to them...that kind of goes against everything I have been reading. So even though I have a build sheet and deal sheet, "manufacturer" can decide that the convenience pckg now cost $2500 instead of whatever it was $1995 or something, and that would change the overall cost. This sounds shady!

Additionally, dealer told me that when they went to put in the order, the "Gas Guzzler" went from $1700 to $2100 and they didn't know why, but guessed that it was due to tax hike in 2022, this also was concerning. Any advice would be great!

It sounds pretty standard, based on the fine print under my POC sheet. Bottom paragraph says it is not an invoice, and pricing is subject to change by the manufacturer . I could be wrong though.

Ok cool, yea I saw that fine print on the build sheet. However it seemed it was possible to lock in the OTD based off the hundreds of hellcat discussions. Excluding incentives/dealer rates and all that. I understand that all comes at delivery

This is what is says on the bottom of the POC..

Note: This is not an invoice. The prices and equipment shown on this priced order confirmation are tentative and subject to change or correction without prior notice. No claims against the content listed or prices quoted will be accepted. Refer to the vehicle invoice for final vehicle content and pricing. Orders are accepted only when the vehicle is shipped by the factory.

This is the Company talking to the dealer telling them that the price can go up by the time you get the car and don't expect us to cover any increase, that's between you and the customer.

So any deal you make with the dealer is subject to his cost going up, whether he chooses to pass that along to you or not is I guess whatever you can work out and how big the price increase is.

Ahhh thanks for the clarification! That sounds a whole lot better than when they tried to explain, guess it's all in the delivery haha.

Price protection? Think you mean rebate protection. The Company does not care what the dealer sells you the car for.

Just FYI, my car went up $1100 MSRP between the time I ordered and the time the car came in. My dealer honored the original, agreed on OTD price, no questions asked, which was well below MSRP, for a ‘21 Hellcat Widebody. Benson Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram in Greer, SC. I dealt with Matt and Ben in internet sales. Couldn’t have been a nicer, more professional experience.

For what it's worth, I ordered from Hellcat Jesus (Jake Stephens @ Dan Cummins). From the time I ordered and left a deposit to delivery, the sticker price went up about $2k. Without even having to ask, Cummins honored the price at order.

IMO you are dealing with a greedy dealership. If you have an out, take it, and order from one of the half dozen other dealerships that have great reviews. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss details.

You realize once again you are expecting to lock down the dealer on a firm price on something that I’SNT BEING MADE OR EXIST DURING A PANDEMIC.
In all honesty the dealer sounds on board and you sound like a shady customer.

Right they gave you the 2k price increase and took off the 2K rebate at the bottom lol.

This is very incorrect. @Germansheperd why are you so angry this morning?

My dealer honored the price at order (not at delivery). I used my own financing and took the additional $2k rebate. I could have elected to use the 0 for 72, and therefore would not have received the $2k rebate.

Also, savings is sort of a relative thing here. I was looking at a Redeye at my local lot, they were $10k ADM on it. I was considering it because the money honestly isn't that big of a deal, I wanted a toy. But, I found Jake, and saved approximately $13k under MSRP. Which means I saved roughly $23k overall.
