GM (Chevrolet mainly) used to have a color/trim override option and back then believe it was NC, not sure about now or if it's still even available.

This exactly! It will get to the point where if you want anything other than a base cookie cutter car, you will pay just to change, then pay for each different item. They already do it with packages, now to pay to pay for a package.

Makes you wonder if the "fee" is to bank those costs into a lump sum savings to cover any possible warranty claims with the increased performance.

The HP Bump is icing on the cake for anyone odering a redeye. A little sarcasm with a little info. It certainly would make it worth more for me if I were ordering a RedEye. Unlikely as I am a Super Stock Guy (the fastest option) and it already has the added HP.

I think the horsepower bump is meaningful. It’s not just mix and match colors. 10 hp is 10 hp. With a warranty. Haters are always going to hate. Same people grab the summit catalog as soon as they buy their car looking to add 10 hp. Lol and spend a lot more than $995. To each their own.

It is not a horsepower increase at all. It is MARKETING. The horsepower number is taken at a different RPM, and marketed that way. Any Redeye will do the exact same thing. This has been discussed a bunch of times.
