I keep reading posts about the Jailbreak being an allocated car. My dealer, who is traditionally, as reliable as they come, says no such thing about allocation. He can order as many jailbreaks as you want at MSRP.

So…..I tend to believe my dealer, BUT, I’m curious as to why anyone thinks the jailbreak is allocated and limited??

My contention from the outset of all the Jailbreak guestimates is that they would make as many as they could sell. Why not? They are in business to make a profit and they have padded the price to the point of being ridiculous. There is no mechanical or performance difference from a standard Redeye so making a limited edition because it has a different color hood or seat belt is doesn't really ring the register for Stellantis (as opposed to producing and selling additional units at this inflated price). The only post I can recall regarding their being a limited allocation for the year came from a dealership on the board (2nd hand I guess) that wants an enormous ADM based on a figure of 3000 units.
Of course there is an allocation on all cars at the moment, regardless of brand. All manufacturers are producing as many cars as they can get parts for with the only bias being that parts are being funneled to the most expensive models to maximize profits. Why is this any different? So I am curious as well as to why anyone thinks that production will be limited beyond the parts shortage that will plague multiple models from all manufacturers.

What’s weird is Koons is the infamous 30k Jailbreak ADM dealer and they just posted how they only have two JB orders available, and they are at MSRP. Not sure if they got the 30k on a few and have now agreed to sell two at MSRP or if they abandoned the whole ADM thing altogether and only ever got two. I doubt that though because they move cars and I cant see them only getting two JB’s ever. But they are saying they can only order two currently. No idea if that’s an allocation due to parts availability or just allocation period. Or maybe theyre just down to their last two and want to save face. My guess is you are correct and it is strictly parts driven.

The dodge power broker dealer I spoke at length and in person with, who sold us our Ram, says they are not only allocated, but limited allocation of two per dealer, at a time, w/ no word on if that will change.
Given that they are not only the top performing dealer in the state, the only PB dealer listed in the state and the fact wife & I were ready to sit down and order & pay in full, in cash...... but was told no, sorry but they had filled their two allocations already and cannot order another until the original two are delivered, I'm going with their word on it.
Maybe its different in different parts of the country.
Who knows with dodge anymore.

If you’re curious, read countless other posts on this forum (and others) in which known buyers were turned away by dealers who stand to gain nothing by not putting orders in.

Go ahead and have them print out a POC for you. If they don’t have an allocation, you’re not getting a car.

I have called over 20 dealers nationwide before I placed an order for a JB at MSRP. The fact is you need to find a dealer with an allocation. I don’t know how they figure out which dealers get what though. Just speculation.
My guess is that in later months there will be increased allocations and by the end of the year dealers will have more then they can sell. Seems to me Dodge is starting with limited allocations because the factory has just started production.

Allocation without calling it allocation.

The ordering dilemma sounds identical to the early 2015 Hellcats we talked about for about six months here six years ago.

Agree 100%....they were doing the "allocation" thing back then too. Once they began cranking the HC's out around mid-year, the whole allocation thing suddenly faded away and they began telling everyone that they'll take orders on as many as people want.

- I ordered my first '15 Hellcat on Feb. the 2nd, and the car didn't show up to the dealer until August the 8th.......

I honestly think this will play out exactly as you stated. A gambling man may wait until mid year to order a JB to maybe get a deal……

If people think 4 months from now (June) they'll walk into a dealer.....and price aside because that's between you and dealer.....will order their Jailbreak and get it delivered by September, I think you've not been paying attention to life in general, let alone the car industry.

And Jailbreaks on a dealer lot defeat the purpose of the option (ordering your custom selection car), plus I think they only happen if the dealer lies about it being a "sold order". [This is a thing, my 2015 Charger HC was one].

That’s why I said a gambling man. They could be pumping out JBs fast by then and dealers would be struggling to sell all their allocations and then reduce prices. What are the odds of that? 25% who knows.

Cars can be ordered in June. Who says they can’t? You?

My take on it keeps coming back to the platform ending. I think for the time being it’s a shortage thing but when supply catches up the “get one while you still can” mentality will take it from there and be used right up until the end. I don’t see it ever getting back to normal concerning buying/pricing.
And even when the ‘24 electric whatever comes out - ADM’s will ensue.

I’ll lower the odds to 15% then…. There’s always a chance.

MSRP sounds tolerable until they add the $899 processing fee on top :ROFLMAO:. MSRP has always been more than a fair profit to start with.

The sales guy doing orders at my dealership is a straight shooter. He can’t get em, zippo…jailbreak cars are very limited allocation and limited to specific dealers. They are not one of them.

Its Feb, no 2022s on lots, more periodic price increases, no incentives, and continuing rough political and bidenomic outlook. How many factory closures are we going to endure this year.

Jailbroken is a money grab with production and supply chain headaches during the Dodge Hemis last gasp.
