Hi all. I previously owned a 2019 Challenger Redeye WB that I had bought off the lot. Sold it to Vroom. I ordered another Challenger Redeye WB, but in the color I wanted, with the wheels I wanted, without a sunroof (which I don't like), and with the 309 rear gear. The wait became unbearable. So I found a new Camaro ZL1 in TX, flew down, bought it, and drove it 6 hours to home.

I told the dealership that I didn't want the Challenger. That was hard, and I feel bad about that. They have always been good to me. I did buy a TRX from them a couple of months ago, and my wife's Jeep a couple of years ago. I hope they get over it.

So I'm going to exit the Hellcat.org. FYI. Comparing the cars, there are several things I love about both. The Camaro looks racy with the all of the aero bits and the carbon fiber supercharger cover sticking out of the hood. The Challenger is quite a bit larger, but also beautiful and mean looking. I never thought I'd say this but I like the U-Connect system with the gauges, and easy to navigate pages better than the one in the Camaro. However, the Bose stereo in the ZL1 sounds better than the HK system did in the Challenger.

I could talk about seats, steering wheel, and interior, but those differences are stylistic. Each to their own.

Driving is the big difference. The Redeye has way more power, as we all know, and I do miss the thrill of stepping on the gas and all hell breaking loose. The ZL1 puts the power down to the road and I think it would match the Redeye from a slow roll and would probably beat it from a standstill. A roll from 60 mph to whatever, the Redeye would definitely win. I was very pleased with the Redeye, WB's cornering, but the ZL1 is better in the corners. I can't really find a difference in the braking, because they both have excellent brakes and both stop on a dime.

So, I will always love and miss my Challenger Redeye WB. It was so much fun to drive. But now I have a ZL1 and have just joined their Forum. So, have fun. Thanks for the knowledge I learned on this Forum. I will always be a huge fan of the Hellcat Redeye.

We do what we need to do to be happy. Sorry to see you go but something tells me that at some point you may be back. The RE is like that gf that you wish you didnt break up with and stays on your mind. You know - the one that got away...

I did same thing. Sold redeye bought gt500 carbon track pack. Gt500 was faster handling is world class and brakes are beyond insane good. Guess what I sold that boring car and ordered a super stock. There is nothing like a supercharged hemi. The hellcat is the funnest car I've driven. I also had a 17 zl1. Honestly the zl1 bang for buck is the king. Selling redeye was the biggest mistake I've ever made when buying and selling cars. Felt good to get the gt500 out of my shop.

I did the exact opposite. I had a ZL1 1LE on order. After months of GM not accepting my order, I placed a order for my 21 Redeye WB. My Redeye was on the train and in route to me by the time GM finally accepted my order. It was still hard saying no to a ZLE. I am in love with my Cat! Enjoy your ZL1! They are amazing cars!

You can still post here. I sold my 892whp 2016 Challenger Hellcat and I now drive a 2021 Camaro ZL1 too. I still like to keep up with the latest here and help when I can answer some questions. Congrats on an amazing car though, I love my ZL1 so much more than my Hellcat, and I didn't even think that was possible. I see a lot of former Hellcat owners on the ZL1 forum driving 6th Gen ZL1's now.

Curious to know if that bow tie will butthurt D’bags like the mopar does, let us know
It will. The ZL1 runs as quick as a Hellcat in the 1/4, but it handles like a race car.

I know quite a few former Hellcat owners that bought GT500's, I don't know of anyone that regretted it.

I'm sure it goes both ways on both forums.

Not really though. I say that because they sell so many more Hellcats than ZL1's, there is no question the Hellcat is more popular. Unfortunately, I think a lot of Hellcat owners don't realize just how good the 6th Gen ZL1 really is. The 5th Gen ZL1 wasn't that impressive in comparison to a Hellcat so I think a lot of people wrote off the Camaro. The 6th Gen ZL1 came along in 2017 and didn't get much attention by the average consumer even though most of the magazines and media rated the ZL1 higher from a performance perspective. I actually expect to see a lot more Hellcat owners moving to ZL1's and GT500's in the next year or two. The Hellcat market is way over saturated.

There is no doubt the gt500 is amazing but I enjoyed my zl1 more than the gt500. Stock for stock in a roll the gt500 was faster than both my redeye and my zl1. Fun factor redeye hands down. The gt500 engine is stout but I prefer grunt over high rpm horse power.
