I feel like a dumb [email protected]@ today. I drove the Cat to work on economy mode and was driving back home on economy mode when this CTS came up along side of me doing 65. We punched it and he jumped out in front of me a car length. I realized I was only on 500 HP so I hit the sport mode but never caught back up with the Caddy due to traffic. I pulled off of my exit and on the merge lane a truck behind me started to cut me off at the end of lane so I punched it, well the tires started spinning and in a split second turned sideways and as I corrected, the car hit a cement lip on the edge of the road and the car smacked hard enough to toss the items in my side net on the console all over the floor. I pulled off the road in a parking lot and there are both of my passenger side rims ate up and a big gash in one of the tires and a scratch in my rocker panel. I don't know if the front or rear end is messed up or tossed out of alignment. I drove it home another 5 miles and the car didn't pull any but that is no indication that something could be bent.Called the Dodge dealership and the rims are 1,420 apiece, the tires are 558 apiece and the rocker panel is only 60 bucks. I feel like poo poo..........

Ugh! That sucks! You must have REALLY punched it. Dang, I hope you don't have any suspension or other issues. Sorry to hear about that. Let us know how it goes. I hate it when people try to cut you off like that. What a jerk! I bet he had a POS too and didn't care about it.

I think there is a key learning. Always ride around in full power. preferably track mode. Come on guys/gals gas is cheap right now, so take advantage. I'll be trading in a Chevy Avalanche for the HC, so not expectation on my part to save on gas... I remember my '72 Cuda used to get about 8mpg.

I am sorry to hear that. I'm at the mileage you wind up the RPM and manually shift so I was doing 55 and I punched it and the tires started to spin. I was really surprised because it was 50 deg. here in Houston and I thought the tires would grab. Lucky nothing bad happened.

Track mode is like driving a tank into battle. The suspension is so tight it jars your teeth out. LOL I have modified my settings so I have track mode on the traction and sport mode on the suspension. I ALWAYS drive with the red key in full power. Refuse to get hole shot. I'm getting 9.4 mpg and having a blast!!!

In this weather I like to have street mode for full traction control and stability with the cold slippery roads roads and track for suspension to a least feel like I'm still in a beast!o_O

Track suspension really isn't that bad... with all the people saying it's so harsh I was expecting much more. Not that I drive around in it all the time, but when I put it in track mode it doesn't bother me that much... and Ohio doesn't exactly have the smoothest roads, either.

On the original topic.. Sorry to hear about the car... learning mistake I guess. This cat will bite you if you're not careful. I'm always expecting it to go sideways and am ready to counter steer if needed. All the more reason to keep traction control in Street unless you're actively needing it in another mode.

Thanks for sharing the story dude ,sorry to hear about your new hellcat . I'm sure we all have had one of those moments and it sucks !
Hope all is well with the suspension but it sounds like it could've been a lot worse good luck

Tirerack.com. All season tires $246 each, summer tires $497 each.
For some reason, Tirerack.com lists multiple Pirelli PZero summer tires. Yes, there is one listing for $497 each, and others for $529, $429 and $346. But there is a listing for $217 each. Same 106Y, same load rating, same 275/40/20 and same treadwear rating (220 AA A). Who knows why, but go for the $217 versions. :)

Here is the link to the $217 version:
