The party begins!!!
Yea, seems like they could have mentioned that somewhere on their site to avoid situations like that. Just a coming soon would have been enough. I suspect they had lots of ported OEM blowers on the shelf they wanted to get rid of first.Of course right after I get my blower ported by them and get their throttle body
Normally they keep blowers in stock as an exchange to speed up turn around time. You send yours in, I got my snout and blower case back
They may not, I wasn't referring to Hellcat stuff specifically.I’ve never seen Kong offer an exchange with hellcat stuff
Likely the reason it wasn't done sooner is no demand. The OEM blower when ported has supported some very extreme setups and beyond that Whipple had the market covered. I get that people are excited about a new product but I doubt it's going to much better than a ported 2.4L or 2.7L OEM blower.Im honestly surprised nobody did this sooner? Its a great idea for a simple blower swap and the stock look. I cant wait to see what they make on a stock stock car with stock pulleys.
I stand by my statement that it won't be much better than a ported OEM. The stock blower is just designed so damn well. I'd love to be proven wrong but I'm quite certain I won't be in this case. Not at stock or elevated power levels sure. But pushing past the stock efficiency range, it will be much better. That’s the point of them.
You're comparing a different blower though. In an LT4 configuration the stock bricks are quite small compared to a Maggie 2650. In the Hellcat the stock bricks are MUCH larger and much closer in size to a Maggie 2650. That's why I just don't think any significant gains are going to be there with this new blower compared to a ported 2.4L or 2.7L OEM blower, and yes, I'm accounting for high HP applications. At some point, the blower efficiency isn't going to overcome the volume of the larger Whipples. People typically port the stock blower to get them to 1000whp or so and the beyond that, just switch the larger Whipples or go turbo.Yes this is actually correct. The 2650 bricks are massive. IAT2 temps actually go down as you make pulls with it. I have logs upon logs seeing this with my own 2650 on my ZL1. Vs the stock blower that would sent temps flying.
