Usually HHP does something. The vendor section may have some new posts for Labor day sales.

Home Depot and Lowe's have some Labor Day sales going on! :D
Hey now, don't mess with Home Depot and Lowe's when it comes to car stuff. My old Foxbody Mustang probably had more hardware store parts than automotive store parts! ;)

I wasn't messing with Home Depot or Lowe's at all. I was trying to be funny but have done exactly what you posted with a local hardware store. They had any kind of bolts (grade 5 and grade 8's), washers (including an assortment of fender washers) that I ever wanted at reasonable prices.

So, I'm Definitely not casting shade at either one of those places and can actually relate to what you're saying.

I was messing with you in a light-hearted fun way so it's all good. I should have put an LOL after my first sentence, lol. My radiator used aluminum angle rod as the support, my home-made ram air was a bunch of stuff out of the plumbing aisle and my home-made pulley brackets were all sorts of aluminum and steel flat bar with various fasteners.

I know that you were kidding. I didn't take it to heart. Heck, when I was younger, I made a Cold Air Induction setup for my 86 Trans Am out of PVC pipe. It wouldn't win at a car show, but it kept me from having any intake problems when spraying the 100 horse shot of juice that the anemic 305 TPI motor needed to feel important! :D

I'm pretty sure that everyone who has wrenched their own cars has a story to tell about a favorite store that saved their butts one time or another.
