So I have been going back-and-forth for the last year either to keep my leg maker on which does produce heat soak but I love the wine. Or keep the stock airbox on and have less wine but more horsepower. I actually love the wine but am I really losing that much horsepower from the leg maker. Advice? Thank you

What year is your car? Does it rain a ton where you live? My LMI was bonkers. I mean like just fantastic.

Hey thanks for the reply. I actually don't drive-in the rain whatsoever. I actually noticed just a hair loss of hp With The
Legmaker. But I would rather have more wine than just a few more horsepower. The more horsepower. What do you think my car is a 21 red eye
You gain hp with the Legmaker. Problem solved.
Even though people are saying it's letting in too much hot air and the stock airbox is better?

...it's not in your signature, your photo is of a truck...that's why. I ask because of the heat chimneys on pre 19 models are more likely to let water in...good luck dude

My profile picture is of my truck. But I'm talking of a 2021 red eye
Which is what I asked, because that information was not offered, shared, or plainly obvious before I asked.

You're not losing any HP either way. The Legmaker is not my recommended intake due to the fact that it doesn't have a heat shield. The Legmaker might make IATs go up just a little at idle but as soon as you start moving, they will come right back down.

2021 Charger Redeye: 797 hp. Even if the CAI of choice gave you an additional 20 hp like all those K&N dyno charts and promises, you are only talking about a 0.025% increase in power. Are you going to notice the difference?

OP didn't want more power, he wanted more sound.

OP was worried about losing power: "I actually love the wine but am I really losing that much horsepower from the leg maker. Advice?" Or keep the stock airbox on and have less wine but more horsepower"

Point being, it does not really matter what CAI you put on. Power should not be a consideration when talking about a ride with over 700 hp. OP was not looking for more sound

I'm simply going by what he posted. He was not looking to gain power, he wanted more blower whine. Maybe you know he wants more than he does.

Theories are nice. however, I have seen the side-by-side data for a car with the Legmaker and a close-to-identical car with the stocker. The Legmaker beat it in performance. Once the car is moving, the air in the engine compartment gets far closer to ambient. It seems that the design of the Legmaker, coupled with the larger filter area, lead to better performance, to say nothing of the scream.
