Looking at buying possibly a used HC. For whatever reason I was thinking line lock is a must, despite I will never take the car to the track. Thought it would be cool to use the function once in a blue moon - like in front of buddies houses; ha. But came across a HC with no line lock at the right price.

Tell me about line lock - Do I really need line lock?

No. While its a cool feature these cars will blow the tires off and barely move without even power breaking. Now if you mount some stickies and want to waste them while sitting in one spot then a line lock would be handy.

Do you need it? Nah. People have done burnouts for decades without it lol.

cool feature though, mainly for saving your front pads if you do it often.

OP - No. Line lock in not needed in these cars to literally blow the tires off. In front of any house. A bit of caution - turning off traction control isn't for the faint of heart. If you keep Traction in Sport mode, it will obliterate the tires while still providing some stability if the car gets sideways.

BTW.. the car will still easily break traction with full traction control on. Even at 50 MPH down shifts.

It's not needed, however it is a nice feature to use so you don't have to wear down your rear brake pads and rotors when doing burnouts. I have it on my car and always used it at the track.
