X, back in December you mentioned :
"It isn’t shown in the photo, but at the bottom myself and the GM have signed the price and they are honoring the 2022 price at 98.1k (inflation markup), no ADM. The GM also mentioned that he has received word that Dodge is expected to reinstate Power Dollars in March by the time the car arrives. If so, then that means I’ll be getting a fully loaded WBJB for under 90k.
As of now, I’m officially back in Moparville."
Congrats. Have you heard them mention anything else about power dollars? They will need something to move the base model cars. A boatload of 22's still on the lots. Sure it won't apply to RE models.
In hindsight I should have checked my car in partial shade and taken my time but my hauler was in a hurry as we had about a 9 hour drive. So some damage was immediately reported by the dealer. Issues were as follows:
Front splitter was damaged. Took 2-3 days to send it out to a body shop and install another which looks fine.
Hood alignment way off at the back corner on passenger side. I adjusted it myself.
Two dents in the roof - took just the right lighting to spot them. The headliner had to come partially down for repair (my cost of course).
About 3 deep scratches (some to to the metal) in the door sill / kick plate area. No idea where it happened. I filled those in and color sanded/buffed. I would call it a 90 percenter. If you don't know it's there you don't notice it.
A couple minor scratches on other parts of the car. Minor color sand and buff.
My conclusion is that it can be a rough ride on the train and/or hauler.
If i had seen all this on a close inspection (and lived anywhere close) I would have just left it there for additional repairs. Cars fine, but I just had to do a lot more work than planned after I got it home. I'm sure you won't have the issue being local but it's worth a close inspection before you depart IMO. Can't wait to see it!
I've heard nothing about Power Dollars. They start their spring sales events in March, so if they are going to do it, last week of Feb, 1st week of March we should hear something. I highly doubt it'll happen and I'm certainly not expecting it.
When I take delivery of a car, whether it's mine or a client's, I do the same process. I'll spend a good 90 minutes going over every detail on the car. I'll have them pull it to a service bay for an undercarriage inspection. I'll take a paint thickness tester and make sure the mils are even everywhere. I sent my 2020 Hellcat back twice for irregular paint and missing options. This car will be treated the same, if not worse, as this is now my 3rd Challenger and I know exactly what to look for.
In terms of the price, the 100k is actually 1k cheaper than I was expecting on the MSRP. The original deal expected a 101k rate with a 99.7k sale price after the factory added inflation adjustment. So, it's actually come down a little and I might get it somewhere in the 98k range. I'll reserve my final comments on this dealership for after I take delivery. Right now though, they really are trying to do a much better job than the last team did. I get the feeling that with this new management, they're trying hard to earn my business back and they're doing all the right things. A lot of times this usually ends up with F&I being a hard pressure shit show, so we'll see
