Was looking at my build sheet and found this little interesting item:

Font Number Brand Graphics Logo

I did some digging and that code is one that is applied to an unallocated order to move it ahead to top priority. The internet says senior management of some variety has the power to tag a build with this code. I don't know who did it. It wasn't anyone at our dealership that reached out or anything (as I had canceled it and they didn't even know it was still on the books). Someone somewhere I guess just wanted to build it :) But that code is why my car got built.

Maybe there was some confusion about this build and because it was thought to be cancelled and then not cancelled, they moved it up the schedule since it was way behind when it should have originally been built. That's the only logical explanation.

It would be logical if the cancellation had ever been communicated to the factory, but it wasn't. The build sheet has some of the history. Here, you can see how it ping-ponged from D to back, back to D and back down again throughout the process. I terminated the order after 5 months and the 3rd slip from D back to BG or BX :

The D1-TO-D REGRESS line is a material hold. The D to BG status change denotes some type of error occurred. Whether it was a scheduling issue or a problem with the order, who knows?

In that case if there were delays at the factory, that might explain why it got bumped up, it was behind schedule.

Except that it was an unallocated build... It shouldn't have been moved up to D the first time.

Maybe a mistake then, but there's ZERO chance that it was made a priority just because someone at the factory wanted it built.

My 2022 had the same "Special Condition Schedule VII" on it. and it was built really fast - Ordered 02/17/22 and built 3/30/22

That was a figure of speech ;) I'm sure there's a reason why. I just know it wasn't from any pressure on the receiving end.

It's still listed in production. My guess is that it's at the upfitter. According to my dealer, it was "built" on 1-21 but it hasn't been production completed nor moved to shipping yet. So, it's either in the upfitter or playing ping-pong in quality control. My bet lies on the upfitter as I literally got every option besides the sunroof, so it had to go there for sure.

Yep, and my finances are such that I should be good. It's still going to result in a HORRIBLE loan rate, but I think I have plenty to cover the upside down-ness of the C8 when I trade it in. The plan is to take a usurious 84 month loan at a horrible interest rate just to get it out the door. I'll refi the loan in 6 months with a more substantial down payment and reduce the term to 36 months.

Too bad about that C8. Worse though is the dealer that initially caused the whole problem. Probably cost you a LOT of $$. Good plan though re fi when you can. I have a ZL1 ordered that I just saw a 1.99 percent finance offer for. Too bad Dodge wouldn’t do the same for their customers.
At least you got MSRP

X, back in December you mentioned :
"It isn’t shown in the photo, but at the bottom myself and the GM have signed the price and they are honoring the 2022 price at 98.1k (inflation markup), no ADM. The GM also mentioned that he has received word that Dodge is expected to reinstate Power Dollars in March by the time the car arrives. If so, then that means I’ll be getting a fully loaded WBJB for under 90k.

As of now, I’m officially back in Moparville."

Congrats. Have you heard them mention anything else about power dollars? They will need something to move the base model cars. A boatload of 22's still on the lots. Sure it won't apply to RE models.
In hindsight I should have checked my car in partial shade and taken my time but my hauler was in a hurry as we had about a 9 hour drive. So some damage was immediately reported by the dealer. Issues were as follows:
Front splitter was damaged. Took 2-3 days to send it out to a body shop and install another which looks fine.

Hood alignment way off at the back corner on passenger side. I adjusted it myself.
Two dents in the roof - took just the right lighting to spot them. The headliner had to come partially down for repair (my cost of course).
About 3 deep scratches (some to to the metal) in the door sill / kick plate area. No idea where it happened. I filled those in and color sanded/buffed. I would call it a 90 percenter. If you don't know it's there you don't notice it.
A couple minor scratches on other parts of the car. Minor color sand and buff.
My conclusion is that it can be a rough ride on the train and/or hauler.
If i had seen all this on a close inspection (and lived anywhere close) I would have just left it there for additional repairs. Cars fine, but I just had to do a lot more work than planned after I got it home. I'm sure you won't have the issue being local but it's worth a close inspection before you depart IMO. Can't wait to see it!

I've heard nothing about Power Dollars. They start their spring sales events in March, so if they are going to do it, last week of Feb, 1st week of March we should hear something. I highly doubt it'll happen and I'm certainly not expecting it.

When I take delivery of a car, whether it's mine or a client's, I do the same process. I'll spend a good 90 minutes going over every detail on the car. I'll have them pull it to a service bay for an undercarriage inspection. I'll take a paint thickness tester and make sure the mils are even everywhere. I sent my 2020 Hellcat back twice for irregular paint and missing options. This car will be treated the same, if not worse, as this is now my 3rd Challenger and I know exactly what to look for.

In terms of the price, the 100k is actually 1k cheaper than I was expecting on the MSRP. The original deal expected a 101k rate with a 99.7k sale price after the factory added inflation adjustment. So, it's actually come down a little and I might get it somewhere in the 98k range. I'll reserve my final comments on this dealership for after I take delivery. Right now though, they really are trying to do a much better job than the last team did. I get the feeling that with this new management, they're trying hard to earn my business back and they're doing all the right things. A lot of times this usually ends up with F&I being a hard pressure shit show, so we'll see :)
