So, vehicle background:

Had an 85 Suburban which I had the motor ported, polished, balanced and bored out 0.030 over and installed a Holley carb on. Along with Thorley headers, I could spin the 275 wide tires on a full tank of gas and slightly wet (read: heavy mist) pavement.

Went from that to a 99 Durango which, with Fastman's help, I was able to get 350 rwhp out of and from there, went to a 04 GTO (actually, bought two of them for $48K out the door but the ex took hers).

All three vehicles won different awards for their stereos and all three were absolutely awesome for touring in though eventually I did regret getting rid of the Durango for the GTO but - the GTO was fun in its own way.

My now wife said if I sold the GTO, a Charger Hellcat could take its place. GTO sold in July ($16K ;)) and now waiting for the 2022 doors to open.

Yes, I do about Mr Jake and just need to figure out, should I have the car shipped to San Diego or, should I do a cross-country trip after the requisite 500 mile break in? :D

Welcome. I'm also from San Diego. What part of the county?

I would do the drive from Jake's.
We affectionately refer to this place as the Slums of Penasquitos :D

Actually looking forward to the drive (time of year/weather dependent). Just need to figure out those frist 500 miles. Thinking about taking the 40 and hitting every exit. Plan it out right and find the dealer closest to that 450 - 550 mile range for a first oil change.

Or, fly out there, do the acceptance inspection, watch it loaded on the carrier, and meet it here five days later.

It's too rich for me as well. I was born here but I won't be buried here, LOL!. The Doubletree is something else now, isn't it? And if by Rolling Hills you mean RH Park on the other side of Black Mountain open space, that's right in my driving grounds.

Thank you A knight

Hemi, yes, Doubletree is becoming something else. The hotel portion construction (over 55 community as I recall) is on going. The golf course portion (med to high density housing, is still up in the air (ie, it's currently a weed farm)
