Have read multiple forum and am debating on deleting my mid mufflers replacing with straight pipe. I want it louder don’t care about drone with not a lot of rasp. Only thing stopping me is that some people you lose performance. Can you guys reassure me and give me the facts thanks.

I haven't compared 1/4 mile times with/without but I don't see how it would hurt performance.
Seat of the pants feel is exactly the same.

What makes people think it hurts performance.... some change with COT?

Yea some people say you lose torque because of loss in back pressure. I just want a cheap way to modify my exhaust without losing any power.

A: Are we talking an R/T or a Hellcat?
B: If Hellcat, then mid muffler delete with everything else left stock makes it louder. Alot louder at wide open throttle a little louder at moderate throttle settings. Power is not affected although you might think it is faster. You will definately go faster more often just to hear it roar though.
C: If R/T then I couldn't tell you as I don't have any experience with that set up. Although soundwise I'll bet it is certainly louder.

Hi @RTM6 I have the AWE Track edition and absolutely love the "Old School" muscle car sound. I have been complimented on it many times and have a lot fun when shopping coming out using my key FOB to start and then watch people faces showing a Big Grin!
You can give HHP sales a call 1-888-894-1115 if you have more questions.

AWE is the Top seller on their site, but they sell many brands of well made exhaust systems and copied the link for the page.

AWE was Track tested and results are Proven, by many of Josh's customers (me for 1 ) to see the gains listed.

Description
The Best Sounding Exhausts on the Planet™ for the ‘15+ Dodge Challenger 392, Hellcat, and Demon:

  • Challenger 392: Max gains of 15 hp and 12 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels
  • Challenger Hellcat: Max gains of 10 hp and 9 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels
  • Challenger Hellcat Redeye: Max gains of 7 hp and 17 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels
  • Precision-engineered H-pipe featured in all versions for a deep, rich tone
  • Handcrafted from full 3” CNC mandrel-bent, U.S.-sourced .065” wall T304L stainless steel
  • Less is more: clean, straight-through design maximizes performance
  • Direct bolt-on for factory-like simplicity
  • Engineered with clearances to accommodate larger, aftermarket driveshafts and differentials
  • System includes quad 4”, double-walled slash cut tips in Diamond Black finish
  • Perfect fitment guaranteed
  • AWE No CEL guarantee
  • Lifetime warranty (one year on tip finishes)

Track Edition Exhaust

For those who like it raw and rowdy, the Track Edition is for you. The Track Edition shares the same integrated H-pipe and precision engineering as its Touring Edition counterpart, minus AWE’s patented drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology®.

In place of the 180 Technology® resonator in the rear lies a Track Edition straight section. As a result, this version is known to get (really) rowdy in mid range acceleration and deceleration, and may be too much for many. Due to this reason, AWE Track Edition Exhausts cannot be returned based on sound preference. You’ve been warned.

Tip Options
This Track Edition Exhaust comes with 4 double-walled slash-cut tips in Diamond Black.
What’s in the box?
Complete Track Edition Exhaust, four 4” slash-cut tips in desired finish, and all necessary hardware for installation.
This Part Fits The Following Vehicles:
  • 2015+ 6.4L Dodge Challenger Scat Pack
  • 2015+ 6.4L Dodge Challenger SRT 392
  • 2015+ 6.2L Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat
  • 2019+ 6.2L Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye
  • 2018 6.2L Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

You MAY lose a few ft lbs of low end tq but pretty unlikely considering the mufflers are a straight through design as far as i know. If there is anything to be lost or gained you wont notice it. Go for it.

Had the mid-muffler deleted for over a year now. No difference in performance at all! And it sounds amazing!

Engine masters did a comparison of 2 1/2 vs 3 inch vs open headers to see the difference in power. 600 hp engine

At the 5 minute mark you can see the results of open

Seen that before

They left it jetted for open header

Lame

Not to mention no one runs 40’ exhaust or tiny 2.5” tube : )

LOL, Yes but it was open and showed the loss.
BTW, I run tiny 2.5 inch pipes and still manage 655 rwhp. Had the 2 3/4 inch piping after the longtubes and it made no difference when switching to the 2.5". The sound with the 2.5 inch is what I was going for. On my ride the sound was better IMO.

Yes, I read the graph wrong, but the difference between the 3" and 2 1/2" was only 15.7 lb-ft and 13 hp on a 600+ engine. Not much of a difference IMO when making that much power.

If you want the best sound out of your hellcat. And don't want to tune your car that will void warranty. Get the cat delete pipes and the Big Daddy mini cat. The Big Daddy mini cat screws in to the cat delete pipes then the O2 sensor screws into that. Do not need to tune your car and your engine light will not come on this way. And if you have issue with your car and need to take to the dealer you can swap it right back out.And you will not have the drone sound like other people who do the mid muffler delete. It will be noticeably louder at idle and at full throttle sounds awesome. I've had mine on for the past year no issues.

We own two hellcats, one a 2016 6 speed car with mid-pipe delete and a 2015 A8 car with stock round mid mufflers. I noticed following BaT hellcat under car pictures
the autos came with the straight through round cans and the 6 speed cars came with an oval off set in and out muffler so guessing Dodge purposely made the 6 speed cars a tad quieter due to the manual and probably higher revved expected shifting. Just an observation, the 6 speed car deleted we own has no noticeable drone and at times when starting like the A8 car being just slightly quieter. My .02 cents. Top picture is a 6 speed 2015 hellcat, bottom is my2015 A8.

Interesting....my Hellcat with an auto had round mufflers....which surprised me. Even more surprising were the oval mufflers on my new Scat Pack....also an auto. Makes me wonder why....?
