So I am hoping to get an answer on which CAI is producing the loudest whine? From what I’ve heard and read and been able to dig up is the king of whine is bwoody. Is this true? I’m not worried about performance from what I understood the performance is negligible if any at all. My question is who makes the loudest whine?

Also if Bwoody is louder than LMI or Corsa by how much? I’m not asking decibels but I’m more meaning is it significantly louder or maybe just a tad? I know that can be subject to the person hearing just trying to do my homework. I really don’t want to have to order multiples and I especially don’t want to waste money if the noise isn’t much of a difference.

I always answer posts like this the same way, so I'll do it again:

Take your air filter tube off the throttle body (don't disconnect the sensor... heh). Fire it up, and go for a very short drive. Punch it, note the sound. That's the MAX sound you can get and any CAI solution will be degrees less than that. So, compare the unfiltered experience to the stock experience and note that there's not a gigantic difference between the two.

Thus, in my opinion, you buy the one that looks the best because the difference in loudness between all of those you listed is fairly small. All are an improvement over stock, but it's not going to be double the loudness or even 25% louder. More like 10%.

So you're telling him if his motor ingests leaves and debris so he can hear how it sounds, that's a good idea?

He could throw handfuls of roofing nails at the open throttle body and it might sound like ice in a blender too right?

Awesome idea dude! :ROFLMAO:

Way more than 10% louder. I did a mid muffler delete and catless mids and could not hear the supercharger anymore. Then I put in the bwoody and it absolutely screams. I would say the bwoody vs stock is literally 100% louder than stock, maybe more. Depends on the year of your car also. Mine is a 2016 and had the closed air box. The newer models with the open air box won't see as dramatic of a difference I'm sure.

Why won’t the newer models see as much of a change in sound?

LMI FTW!
This past weekend I was racing with the MSHS series Hemirace.com.
It was the 1st time back at the track since 11/2020
On the return rd I kept thinking how good the whine sounded and I should record it. On top of that I have the AWE track edition catback exhaust that is a really cool old school Muscle car sound.

I just thought the guys would love this set up especially when you get on it!😎😎😎😎

LMI has always been known for a Great whine and being that it's made of Carbon Fiber that makes it awesome too.😎😎😎

Some CAI companies want you to buy an inter cooler for their CAI!🤔🤪🙄

LMI and AWE Best sound combo ever!!!💖😎

I can get a full WOT hit down on my driveway. I guess some people's definition of a "very short drive" is different than others, dude. I can also just set the linelock and burn it out inside my garage, indoors with the A/C and shop fans on. No leaves involved, dude.

I have the Bwoody on my charger hellcat and the LMI on my Redeye challenger. Honestly they both produce amazing whine. One thing I don’t think people touch on is the Tone of the Bwoody I feel like sounds more like a whistle through the aluminum. The LMI is Carbon Fiber so it produces a little different sound. The Redeye makes more whine at less throttle so it’s not really an even match. The LMI has more of a Robotic sound I don’t know exactly how to describe it but it’s a nice frequency as well. But comparatively tough choice I really like how both intakes sound a lot. Night and compared to stock. Those little boxes may keep the intakes a little cooler when it’s hot but they also isolate most of the supercharger noise from getting into the cabin. If I had to choose I’d go LMI just because it’s proven to increase the airflow and a little better design I think. I like the Bwoody on the charger because I have the heat shield on it which is useful because the heat exactors are right over it on my 19’ model year.. keeps the water out of the filter going through the wash.. Hope that helps. Oh also wait time for Bwoody was only a week or two. The LMI is custom built by one man usually 6-8 weeks wait before you get it. Unless you pick one up used. Hope that helps ✌

So what you are saying is I need to add a charger hellcat and then I can just get both? I 100% agree haha ok maybe I should go the LMI route then. For now I’m not doing any motor tuning but I do intend to. I’m just trying to get a game plan going right now.

Is this really the loudest? Sorry I didn’t intentionally leave it off I am still new and in the research stage
They are rated good, loudest is anyones guess. He really liked it and knows his stuff too. Everyone says something different honestly some people like the JLT or even K&N. I will say one other thing about the LMI. The LMI looks the cleanest It’s just a nice piece of carbon fiber and a massive blue filter on the end. I don’t want to look at a box under my hood for the intake I like the open element look just my preference.

Bwoody vs LMI. I recommend buying the Sock for the Filter on the LMI. I use the socks on both intake units to protect from dust, pollen etc. doesn’t really hinder performance and helps them stay clean longer.
