Drove a 2019 z06 today.. and I gotta say impressed is not even the word.. pushing about 725-735 hp the car is an absolute monster. While I love the hellcat thinking about the z06… if I can ever find one…

I hear ya, I have the challenger, but a 4 door sedan with 717 or 797 hp really is crazy.. the vette was just a whole different experience from the challenger

Drive what you love. Life is way too short to drive what other people like. Personally I love my challenger but it’s certainly not for everybody, a corvette is a completely different driving experience.

Can't go wrong with the C7 Z06. Great sports car and looks nice especially with all the stage 3 aero Z07 package on it IMO. Must have been a modded one too at 725-735 HP.

Only few concerns I've heard with the C7 Z is the overheating issue which I'm sure in 2019 (the last year models) have probably been tooken cared of but still may have heard of issues. The M7 transmission is less likely to have this issue.

There A8 transmissions usually seems not so responsive and others have preferred the M7 transmission over it.

The Z06, when pushed hard near the limits ( especially on a road course) seems to bite back and can be unpredictable especially in corners.

I've also heard of the oem wheels cracking as well.

Now I'm not knocking the Z06, it's a great car and performance wise it will beat our Hellcats. It's a beautiful looking car and hard not to like. While Hellcats have had its own issues I figure I share with you the common downsides of the C7 Z06 that I have heard and give you a heads up on things I mentioned above.

Goodluck finding one and enjoy it.

Thry are cool til you try to put groceries in one :)

ask me how i know. :)

i love my Charger Hellcat. Kiddos fit in it and is loads of useful fun. IF SINGLE….. no kids…. The Vette would be cool though.
My neighbor has one and has 3 kids. I think most people that have them don't have them as their only car.

Z06 is a sweet ride for sure. Zl1 and the z06 were both cars I cross shopped before choosing the hellcat. While it is not my only vehicle, I wanted the option to have more than one passenger if I wanted to. That and the retro, muscle car looks won me over ultimately, along with the brutish power delivery.

Yeah he bought one with all the goodies on it.. honestly he could be pushing close to 750, got a decent deal in the market and the car only had 3800 miles on it, mint condition. I’ve always loved vettes and the look of them.. after driving it.. I was sold.. the hellcats are amazing but I’m having a harder and harder time trying to justify the kind of money for such old tech, and chassis.. etc.. the z06 really was a damn rocket

i loved my c6 z. It was a raw fast car. its a driving experience every car guy should at least try. None of the granny electronic stability control junk. Just power. Yup vettes tend to attract the grey haired gold chain bunch but not so much the z06 or zl1s. That and i may not be a gold chain type of guy. More a wrangler and boots type but i really dont care what other people think of my car. The corvette z's are amazing cars. you wouldnt want to bet your house against one driving any challenger. then add MUCH better handling. Much better fuel economy and better resale (usually)

No back seat? Ive never had anyone in the back seat of my challenger since I bought it. Matter of fact in the last 5 years i can count the time someone sat in the back seat of my truck on one hand. Bottom line is a c7 z is a better car in every catagory. Only thing it lacks is that cool old school look and muscle car feel. But nail it at 2000rpm and i guarantee it will put a smile on your face.

One other good thing is if your buying used theres a much bigger chance the previous owner of the hellcat you bought drove the snot out of it then one of those old gray haired gold chain wearing old men. The c8 hasnt really grown on me yet. But it took some years before i thought the c7 was good looking too. But think about the fact your buying a normaly asperated under 500 hp car that does 11s and would probably woop richard pettys charger around a nascar track in the 60s. If the prices on them ever got down to what there suppose to be sold at they would be the best bang for the buck car ever made. I can see some preferring a challenger. But ANY car guy that bashes a c6 or c7 z just isnt a car guy. There amazing cars. If you have kids or can only afford a r/t then at least you can have that. But dont pretend it makes you more of a car guy then someone thats driving a c8 z. Id bet hed staighten you out in short order. Heck his wife probably could.
