I know this was a known problem but I don't see much post about it these days. I like to do agressive handling driving, not so much drag racing. My original research had indicated this type of use, combined with lowering the car, lead to failure in the rear axle boots due to geometry issues that are not easily resolved. Is this still the case with newer models? (I have a 21).

Not an issue on the widebody and Redeye models since they have the same axles as the Demon, but I'm not sure if the newer model standard body Hellcat has the upgraded axles or not.

What do the demon axles get for cv joints that the other oem axles don’t?

Even the outlaw joints wear out. It’s a wearable part

Frame it tub it : )

On my "2020 HC WB the right boot blew up, and the grease was everywhere on the underside of the car. Car is lowered on KW adjustable springs. Got a new one installed on warranty. No problems since then. I do a lot of high speed driving on the Autobahn where the springs are even more pushed and the angle gets even worse

The Demon axles have a larger spline count which makes them stronger and more resistant to heat. Most people that lowered their Hellcats with the original axles tried several ways to fix the issue, the Redeye.Demon axles seemed to hold up without tearing the boots. I don't think the boots are the actual issue so much as the heat was causing them to get soft and tear. There's a huge thread about it here in the Auto-X section of this forum.

The boots are different, because the CV’s are fundamentally different than ALL OTHERS. The new CV’s have eight balls not six as everyone else has. The splines and axle diameter don’t matter with respect to that problem.

Larger diameter and more splines are for added torsional strength to resist breaking in shear failure when sudden energy is applied like when drag racing.

Ahh, wasn't aware that the CV's were different.

When I was having my problems, I could not find anything near to what Mopar has with those eight bearing units, either.

I am still not lowering mine. I have enough problems without adding that one again.

I've been lowered for years now and I don't have any issues but then I don't drag race my car.

It's a strange thing, not all lowered Hellcats experience this. I don't know the rhyme or reason. It's not alignment related though because many of us tried that and it still happened
