I've recently noticed that my Charger HC (A8, obviously) will lunge forward a few inches after putting it in park (and letting my foot off the brake). For instance, you pull into a parking spot, stop, put it in park, and let off the brake. Then it will lunge forward. It does this on level ground, and with enough enthusiasm that I think it might even do it on a slight incline. It's not just slowly rolling until it hits the park pin. It's got a little force behind it.

I recently had my transmission replaced (completely unrelated issue), and I don't recall it doing this before I had it replaced. But I only owned it for 8 days before I took it to the shop, so I may have just not noticed it. I can't think of what would be causing this, whether it be related to the transmission swap or not.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Does not sound right to me. Sure a slow roll till it hits the lockout pin but not a lunge. What happens if you put it in park. Hold the brake whilst you turn the engine off ?

Good question. I'll try to remember to do that next time I drive it (the weather is rough right now).

I'm experiencing the same, dodgeboy. To prevent a massive lunge, I ease out of the brake once in Park rather than dumping the pedal. It can be pretty forceful if you dump the brake pedal, but at no time have I ever thought it would continue forward.

I've got the same thing. It does lunge forward a bit after put in Park. Have to be careful when parked that you are far enough away from a parking barricade or wall so you don't scratch, I already got a small one on the front spoiler from that happening.

That's weird. Mine has never done this.

Same here...if you hold the brake for a few seconds after shifting into park it won't...I think its the torque converter

It barely lunges at all if I shut the engine down and wait a couple seconds before releasing the brake. I'm going to train myself to do this from now on. It also doesn't lunge (in either direction) if it was last in reverse.
