Thanks for the reply Chad! That's good that they will allow you to do the work if you can take on the effort then send tunes to help get things lined out. I've been tossing back and, forth either using Tim Barth or OST as both are close and, offer great service from what i hear. In my case i'm thinking a maxed out 93 tune with a backup race gas tune for that extra punch when needed.

Right now, i have only 5,900 miles on my Stock Blower and, wanted to see around 10k before i did anything tune wise in case the bearings fail. So far so good. That's the only thing keeping me from picking up the phone or sending emails off to narrow down my two choices.

I agree with your choice of switching to Bias Ply on the rear to help with the hook- Out of curiosity though, how much do you feel that change improved your 60' times?

I chose the 17" x 10" Bogarts and, Mickey Thompson 305/45/17's Et Street R's to keep my reciprocating mass down and, with the slightly shorter height- a slight regearing of the rear and, hopefully some better weight transfer. One side benefit too is that i can always drive the car to the track with the stock front tires airing the backs to 32psi. I always keep a can of Slime and, a better mini compressor than the supplied one in the trunk just in case though. Right now that's kind of keeping it simple.

I thought i might air the stock fronts to 45psi next time to see if i can hold the front up a little and, help with the hook but, i also need to observe better how the suspension settings were holding after using the Burnbox HC as i encountered some bog on few of my passes. I think/know it did reset to Street/Street at least once.

If you look back at Post #506 you can see that i've done alot to eliminate flex in the car at a slight cost in weight but, overall i really feel these little steps have built a better foundation for the future when more power is applied.

Probably the best thing about owning/driving an M6 Cat at Terre Haute's 1/8th mile was that so many people stopped by to talk and, were amazed that i was actually running three pedals! Ronnie Sox i am not but, it sure is fun...

Thanks again!

Just know running bias on the back and stock on the front you will get a lot of floating sometimes. Just be ready for it, so your not surprised because at 139mph it can be a little scary!

I've yet to remove the front sway bar but will probably do that on my next track day. I can't speak to the gear swap because I'm using the stock Tremec and rear end. But, would definitely think that can only help getting out of the hole. As for OST Dyno, Mike will send you a base tune and then progress from there through data logs and tune revisions. I ordered the parts from OST, did the wrenching myself and had Mike do my tunes via email. I ran a 10.3 @135 mph with a 2.85 upper and OST Dyno race gas tune. I'm now running a smaller upper - 2.65, catless mids and ID 1050 injectors so hoping for a new personal best soon (need cool air). OST Dyno provides great customer service and responds fast, especially if you have a race or event you're preparing for, really good group to work with.

Use a bias ply and save yourself a lot of drama and headaches. Good luck and have some fun!
Chad think you will have the same problem I have. Too much power not enough tire but your track prep, is better then mine. good luck.

Yes Sir! James- i have an older Dodge that i used to Bracket Race that ran Bias 10.5" Slicks on the rear and, 4.5" Bias front runners (Automatic) that was "Wonky" enough at even 118mph.

What i love is that right now i can run the Mickey T Radials on the track or even at some of the 1/2 Mile events i have done and, the car is rock solid at speeds approaching 150mph. I would just put my stock Pirelli's back on if i were to ever do a full Mile though.

I can see where you get to a point and, it would be so much more beneficial to switch to a Bias on both sides to utilize the shock load and, overall power but, i'm quite a ways out from having to deal with that yet.

Land vehicle Vehicle Car Muscle car Tire

One thing i forgot to mention- When this photo was taken a coupe of weeks ago the car had just slightly bogged and, the 60' foot time suffered at a 1.90 on this pass with 18psi in the back. The sidewalls are looking solid and, the extension on the front was probably a little better at 1.77 but, this was the only shot the Track Photographer got so, i thanked her and, gave her a $5 for a 5 x 7 photo.

Baby steps right now-

I've only noticed a couple hundredths better on bias ply compared to a drag radial. I just recommend bias ply for its ability to absorb the shock more. I really think the softer side walls of the bias helps prevent breaking parts on the launch. And I run a bias ply front runner too, which eliminates the unstable sway at high speeds. I've tried the bias on the rears and radials upfront, was NOT a fan. Be safe and use a bias ply skinnies if you ever decide to run a BP on the back.

Frustrated again, weather in Morocco Indiana is NOT looking good for tomorrow. Want to get this car to a quarter mile on any Sunday in the near future. If anyone has any suggestions for tracks in Kentucky or even Tennessee in the next few weeks, please speak up. Helmet, cooler, bag of tools, jack and, my Drag Radials and, i'm there.

Darn this thing called Winter...

How much PSI are you with upper only? Im assuming 15psi at your elevation. Does the stock pump support a little more boost on race fuel tune? Id love to see you crack 9s in cooler air but that's asking a lot out of stock manual gears.

I installed a 2.65 ring and id1000 injectors which gives me 16 lbs. The stock pump does support everything on race gas. I'd love to see a 9 too, but I don't think it'll happen. Hoping for a 10.1 / 10.0. I'm hitting the track next Saturday so will see.

Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green KY is having a TnT on Saturday Nov 3rd. It's been a good track for me 10.3 @ 135 mph. I'll be there with a couple buddies so let me know if you go. Goodluck!

You don't know how much i'd like to be there Chad and, i really appreciate the heads up- I work nights and, finish my last shift on Saturday mornings around 11am, so driving to Bowling Green from Indianapolis is out of the question this year. ALL Fridays this year at work are locked up and, i can't even get one off unless i call in dead...(Some people have actually tried that one.o_O)

Morocco Indiana was rained out today.
I took this coming Wednesday off (back in December of last year during vacation bidding) and, its looking like Lucas Oil Raceway will be rained out that evening for their *last* Street Car Wild Wednesday event.
Next Sunday (at this time) is looking like a rain out for Morocco again on future forecasts.

In eight straight days i have three chances to hit a quarter mile track barring rain. You can see where the frustration is...but, i still have two more chances left.

That's awesome man! The best I got out of 6 or 7 runs was a miserable 12.0. I need to launch softer. I blew the tires off in every round. I think it was last track event of season.

Thanks for the good wishes fellas! Sorry about the late response, I get sidetracked with work and other social media groups. If we could get email alerts sent to us like other forums that would be great.

Here's the most recent video of my new personal best (10.193 @ 137.98 / 60' 1.561). I've switched to the ET street r bias 28x11.5-17 because I wanted to participate in the local 1/8 street classes. I was happy with this tire, very consistent 1.6 - 60'. Then I decided to do a 15" conversion because I can't leave well enough alone. So, the smaller 2.65 upper and the new 28x12.5-15 ET Street R bias really paid off. I only ran 3 times and improved with each pass by adjusting the psi (first pass 10.36, second 10.21, third and best 10.19). Sorry about the camera and fire extinguisher pin rattle in the video.

Hey Chad, I saw the update on FB and congrats ! [email protected] is killer. I know you were running Hoosier's before, but this new PB was with MT Street R bias plys, correct ? If so, what size were you running. Thanks, Brent.
Yes sir, I started with an ET street r bias 28x11.5-17 which was nice and consistent, same performance as the Hoosiers. But, went crazy and did a 15" conversion and ran that 10.1. New et street r bias size: 28x12.5-15.

More questions now. Lol. I appreciate all your feedback !
What 15" conversion ?
What wheels and backspace ?
What wheel well mods required ?
Thanks,
Brent
