More questions now. Lol. I appreciate all your feedback !
What 15" conversion ?
What wheels and backspace ?
What wheel well mods required ?
Thanks,
Brent
Willwood rear drag brake kit, shorter sway bar end links and skinny ended toe links. I went with the 15x10 Weld wheels and 6mm (1/4") spacer from Speedlogix. NO wheel well mod is required.

I noticed that changing from the M/T Radial to the M/T Bias ply gets a compound change too...
Radial- R2 (Medium/Soft).
Bias- M5 (Medium).

I really like the idea of a 15" conversion but, after spending a fair amount (for the me) on 17" Bogarts and, M/T Radials along with watching a trusted Tire Man bend a NEW wheel into a "D" on his machine...plus the time spent getting it back from Boogie-.

I just ran out of time to test and, improve on my 1.77 60's...
Oh well, there's next year and, Challenger Fest!

Chad, have you had a chance to weigh your rear wheel combo since the conversion? I know that with my 17"x10" Bogarts- No TPMS- Metal Stems and, M/T Et Street R 305 45r-17"s (Radials) I'm a solid 50#'s per side. A big improvement over the stock 62-62.5#'s at stock with Slickery Pirellis...

I guessing your right around 30#'s or UNDER with this new combo along with the benefits of more sidewall and, less Rotor rotating mass...

Personally, I think with real good track prep and, mineshaft air conditions...maybe a slight tweak on the Tune your a heartbeat from recording a 9.XX someday, somewhere.

A win win situation for sure-

Ivorycat: did you go with the beadlocks?
I did not, just the normal Weld Racing 15x10 / 5 spoke with black center. So far, the tire hasn't moved on the rim.

Gus, You'll be good with those Bogart 17's. I had great results with my old 17x9 setup and Bogarts are about as good as it gets. The Weld 15" with M/T's mounted weigh 41lbs, my 17x9 with M/T's mounted weigh 47lbs and like you said the stockers with Pirellis are about 62lbs. So, headed in the right direction. Lol

I hope you're right about clipping that 9. Mike gave me a new tune so maybe with the right conditions. I'm going to be eyeballing Alabama tracks this winter, they're open all year. I can't make it up to Bowling Green this week, gotta visit family. Have fun if you go.

Y'all have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Bringing this thread back! :)

Went to Wild Wednesday in Indianapolis last night and, made a few passes. Made a few driver mistakes and, still had some issues with traction but, it broke into the 11's. Here's my best two slips from last night on 305 45R 17 Mickey Thompson ET Street R's-

Babysteps...(I just am not the type to do it *Automatically*);)

I have to add that the DA's last night (Density Altitude) were in the 1110-1300' range as shown by Air Density Online (a GREAT free resource for anyone to use- if your track is in their database). Windy across the track from right to left which made clearing the stands a little scary at the 1000' mark.

I had removed the front Sway Bar End Links before the trip and, heard from a couple of spectators that it was- "Really pulling the front end up hard". Cant tell how high from inside the car but, both passes felt strong on the weight transfer!

A lot of people were complaining about the cool air (started in the 60's dropped to 50 flat by 9:30pm) and, all i could think was-
"Silly Rabbits, this is FREE Horsepower!" Some spectators next to me in the staging lanes mentioned that- "That Hellcat Challenger Auto car that was running 10.90's last week (400-600' DA) was ONLY running 11.20-11.30 that night.

Didn't make me feel so bad...:D

I'd like to personally thank IvoryCat (a few posts up) for all of his advice and, support from a far as we have never met in person but, i really appreciate the effort from a fellow gear thrower who really has a grip on what he's doing in helping me out by Phone texts, PM's and, here!

Even though it looks very wet and, nasty next week in the forecast i've got next Wednesday off and, i'll be ready for another attempt to best that 11.59...Just got to get that 60' time down...
Crossing fingers! :)

Nice run! I did a [email protected] with old Hoosier bias plys. Just wondering how you liked the radial tires? Did they spin off the line or dead hook? I tried drag radials years ago with my 09 M6 challenger and it sucked. Hoosiers worked well for me.
Thanks Pedals! They hook decent for a Stick Car but, i looked back in my records and, saw that i had slightly better 60' times running the 1/8th in Terre Haute Indiana last year (1.77's). Indy is not exactly known for awesome prep on Street Nights but, it's always in your hands to correct anything about that and, make it work.

Of the Six runs last night...
Two were spins (too high launch rpm...4000r's).
Two missed gears (couldn't get my act together...I'm my own worst enemy sometimes).
Two were these.

I was running 17lbs last night and, i'm going to try and, concentrate a little more on my starting line routine next time with the launch rpms at 3500 max going back and, forth from 17-18lbs.

I'm kind of limited on Radials from Mickey T at the 17" size but, i'm also interested in trying the next size up. Either way it was great to slap them on and, drive 30 miles down the road (including Interstate at 75mph) with 35 pounds in and, feel safe doing so!

That Et Street Bias in 17" is looking interesting too but, i really like the safety of the Radial on the road. May go that route though-

Good passes Sir! You'll be in the low 11's with a little tweaking to the psi, good burnout and a 3500 launch.

You probably already do this but it never hurts to share best practices.
Make sure to get some smoke rolling off of the ET Street Rs during your burnouts. Don't overkill the tire, but a 4 Mississippi count works for me. Also, angel a side view mirror at the tire/tires so you can see what's happening. This will help you position yourself beyond the water box too. Sometimes the track officials stop you directly in the water for your burnout (not a good way to get the tire hot.)

Good advice on the mirror angle that i never thought of! ;) Sometimes i'll put the car in "Race Gear" just to turn the backup camera on real quick and, check my distance from the water box. I also try for about a 3-4 second burnout as anything above that really heats a tire up and, just throws that cool tire pressure setting all out of whack.

I thought about it more last night at work and, during my break ordered a Stage 6 Motorsports Two Step Controller and, mXa Hellcat Two Step Plug and, Play harness...My biggest problem is staging the car and, setting the rpm for launch while trying to eye the last amber on the tree. That was a good reason why i had two *Bog* runs and, two *Spinzilla* launches. I think this will take me to the next level!

I'd really like to see that time come down a tenth or two- Anti rain dance in effect wishing for a clear Wednesday night next week! I'll keep you guys posted when i get the Box and Wire Loom as the the Wiring is on backorder right now. Not a big rush, there will always be concrete to punish when i get it wired in! o_O

We're back! ;)
Didn't exactly rotate the earth tonight but, I made some progress-

I started the first of my four runs tonight going in a radical different direction and, dropped my tire pressure to 14psi for the first run. THAT didn't exactly work out so well...So I tried 15psi, not much better. The thought was even though *yes* they are Drag Radials, maybe they will really dig when they squat a little. Didn't do squat...
This was my third run with DA around 2600', 3700 rpm launch and, a 10mph tail wind. Tires set at 18psi. My BEST 60' so far! Still a lot left on the table and, fourth run netted a MASSIVE second gear miss from a mostly worn out 50 year old right shoulder.

There is no benefit to getting older...

Plans are to obviously install my new Stage 6 Motorsports Two Step when it arrives along with the mXa wiring harness on back order and, hopefully make it to Osceola Indiana to their Test N Tune on the 28th of this month. I think that will really be a game changer on the starting line...For me at least.

I enjoyed having a rare midweek night off from work, talked to some great Mopar people at the track, even exchanged contact info with a young man who just bought an older Hellcat Challenger himself! Saw a lot of hot Chicks too...I'm still single, still looking! :)

Special thanks again to IvoryCat for his advice tonight via text as I'm still working on this step by step!

I'm starting too think Speedy's right and, maybe I should rip the interior out to save myself 142.5 pounds. (Would have been good for an 11.4 last week) but, I'm doing it with a full interior. If I replaced the Driver with a Monkey- that would be good for about -160 pounds.

Someone asked me once- "Why are you doing it the hard way and, trying to run a Stick when you could have bought an Auto?"

Racing an Auto is like watching Porn-
Driving that Stick car is like DOING Porn...

Maybe I'll run into some of you at Osceola soon? Take care everyone!

Osceola Dragway had to cancel all racing today due to 1-3 inches of snowfall last night...o_O Darn it...

I was born out west but, raised in the midwest (North Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois and, Indiana) you never know what the weather is going to hand you this time of year. I will try again somewhere else with my new Two Step installed shortly!

I understand how to turn traction control off.
But what is the next best Track or Street.

I keep reading it both ways.
I read on a auto red eye track was the best.
I have read Sport is best on Hellcats.
What drags the brakes less with a 6 speed??
(Track or Sport)

Thanks!

I always have TC off. Enjoy the M6 all wild. It was explained to me that Track would have the least amount of drag. Street the most amount of drag. Sport is in the middle. That said before I just turned it off I used Sport.
Track definitely shows red on brakes on the onboard screen. (Least brake drag)
But I have read Sport is better a few times as least drag.

My best was an 11.2 @ 127mph , i have the speed but not the time.

This is with a 140ish IAT temp so I believe its pulling timing.

This was when i had just a 10% lower and a bwoody intake and semi slicks on 18’s

Note: 1.9 60’ ft is what is preventing me from 10’s.
