I am in the market for a new clutch as mine is slipping. Not sure if I want organic or ceramic. I dont really do any drag racing so I am leaning more toward organic. I am considering purchasing the Ram 50-2370. Any thoughts or opinions? I know people have purchased the Mcleod rxt with mixed results.

Ram is good, but you need their hrb. Also, make sure you go to a qualified installer (not the dealership) that can correctly measure and shim the hrb. I had an issue with this before and how they did the lines for the hrb (did not put thread tape). So I had nothing but issues with air in the system, and the clutch started to wear almost immediately and had disengagement issues.

Thanks forbthe reply. I am glad you mentioned the hrb. I thought with the 50-2370 that I could use the factory hrb? This set up is very similar to the Mcleod RXT correct?

When I changed the clutch in my GT500(TR6060) installed the Mcleod RXT. Not a fan of the Mcleod RXT as it would chatter at low speeds. My example is not a Dodge but it is the same transmission.
Did you install the ceramic version? I think that is why I am going to choose the organic version. I definitely dont want clutch chatter. Thanks for the reply!

I had the BBG twin disk & HRB installed about a month ago. The HRB came already set up perfectly. (But it comes with extra shims for once there has been wear). So far it's been great, I have no complaints.

I was hoping to purchase a clutch set that is a bit more economical but I may consider the bbg. I think it would be overkill for my situation though. I wanted something slightly better than stock.

Same here. It will very likely last me the rest of the life of the car. I got 45k out of the factory clutch, pretty sure this BBG will last a lot longer given I only street it.

However, you do need to be aware that the BBG with HRB is a stage 1 clutch. It took me a few days to be able to drive it ok, and now a month with it I'm mostly used to it but still not perfect. That said, I'm more than happy with it and willing to continue improving my own coordination for it.

RAM clutches makes the clutches for BBG, by the way. You’re just paying a premium for BBG to slap their name on it, have it be black instead of red, and they adjust the hrb

When Toddy first introduced himself to the viper community here he mentions a partnership with RAM (it's a good thread, you can see a lot of his viper clutches and read where they were used in competition). While his clutches may be based on RAM clutch parts I don't believe they are identical to anything that RAM sells off their website--not after his custom, hand modifications are done.

Unfortunately, the install got pushed back thanks to covid. I got the SD80SST-H. But they have like five or six options. Although alum fw, the unit is a heavy 58lbs.
I ordered a new OE HRB.
At the time I purchased there were no real world reviews of Spec on a Hellcat so no bad news lol. McLeod had too many bad reviews for me to chance it, Mantic would have required a triple. RAM I saw no reviews either, BBG too expensive.

Gotcha! I had a chance to check out Tilton Racing. It seems they have a really nice clutch setup. I may be a guinea pig and take the chance on it. Tilton Engineering 55-1012 Tilton ST-246 Twin Disc Clutch Kits | Summit Racing

I went with the Centerforce twin disc clutch in mine. Chattered at first until broken in and it is ALOT easier to shift than even the stock clutch.
Yeah my tuner used to install Centerforce but doesnt care for it now, too much neg feedback.
