So I'm a big manual fan. Ive had manual cars for a while and these are my weekend drivers. I love them. Ive had Nissan 370Z, Civic type R, Mustang Bullitt to name a few. Now I'm super into the hellcat scene and I cant decide if I want a crazy off the line redeye or jailbreak redeye or if I want a manual hellcat. I Know the classic arguments that the auto is faster but for those of you who have driven both - what do you prefer? is the thrill of putting the pedal down on a redeye worth sacrificing rowing the boat on a 707 HP muscle car?

Thanks all! Also if anyone knows where I can get an octane red widebody manual hellcat Id appreciate it haha

nice meeting you all.

If you spent any time on this site or did a simple search you would know that you cannot order a manual HC. I strongly suggest you spend several hours reading posts instead of asking everyone to repeat what has already been said 100 times.

BTW: Welcome!:)

Manual 100%. You can add some HP to the manual Challenger if you want to make it faster, but I don't find a need for that. So much more fun driving a manual than automatic, just more engaged with the road.

If you want to put your pedal down and simplistically drive a car, you could grab a Tesla with Ludacris mode, since that is much faster than a RE and would be more fun. Or you could grab a TRX with the same Hellcat engine, just not as fast, but plenty of power for a vehicle of that size.

I was in the same exact position you are in when I was looking around for a hellcat, and I ultimately went with the manual and I am very happy with my decision. I had the privilege to experience both the manual hellcat and the redeye and I could honestly barely tell a difference in power between the two, there were even times where I felt the manual actually pulled a bit harder then the redeye did. With that being said even if you are worried about the power difference an upper pulley with a good tune and you will run circles around a redeye. I think I have made my case lol...... Manual all the way!!!!

Most people prefer the A8, most people own the A8, the A8 is faster, the M6 is difficult to drive, M6's are getting premium prices, M6's are more sensitive to abuse and poor driving habits, the A8 it probably best for you. I'm staying with the M6.

OP mentioned he is a manual guy, but I guess a real manual person would not be asking this question, so you are probably correct and an automatic is for him.

I'd drive the M6 first. I personally find the M6 in the Hellcat to be a bad transmission in terms of shift precision and responsiveness. Then, understand that the M6s have a high degree of failure, and to make matters worse, the most common failed part (input shaft) has been discontinued. So, if your M6 does fail, you have to either find a skilled machine shop to create a new one or you have to buy a new transmission. Neither of which are cheap endeavors.

For those reasons, I steer clear of the M6.
