I'm in the process of buying a vehicle from a used dealer, it's a 2016 charger hellcat, they are saying when they bought the car at an auction it only came with two black keys. It’s being sold as is, they won’t pay for the red keys. Is this something that will give me issues down the road or can I just buy and have the dealer program me red keys once I own the vehicle. Everything else about the car is clean. If there is no issues with being able to buy and program a red key I’ll eat the cost, I just want to make sure I don’t buy a hellcat and I’m stuck without red keys forever.

Odd that it has two black keys and it only came with one. Get the RF Hub update and buy two red keys at that time.

is one of them programmed as a red key?
Good point! Sit in your Hellcat with one fob at a time and turn the ignition to "on", but don't start the engine. Watch your center dash panel. It will identify each fob as either red or black.

hmm, no hellcat ever came with 2 black keys, rather 2 red keys and 1 black key. Fishy business here, and possibly a compromised/stolen vehicle.
i was thinking someone may have put the emblems and hood on a regular SRT.

Something sounds shaddy AF cause it didnt come with two black keys. I would require a PPI before I bought anything from that dealer.

No chance I'd buy that car without red key. Not so much because it's missing (can be replaced) but you can't fully test the car. No reputable dealer is going to sell a hellcat without the Red key IMHO. Feels like they may be trying to hide a hurt motor.

Honestly that’s my worse fear, they are trying to hide a hurt motor. It’s def not a stolen car, and it’s def a hellcat, the carfax is clean, it was bought at an auction with two black keys, who knows why. I do have an extended 100k mile warranty and a 7 day return no questions asked so I’m going to take it in to get checked soon as I have it.

How do you mean "soon as I have it"? A post-purchase inspection is not a good idea. Pre-purchase inspection is always a good idea, but in this case I'd say "run". Don't buy into problems that are best avoided.

It’s being shipped to my house. It arrives next week.

Subscribing just to see how this turns out
imagine if you will…

a fighter pilot, inverted at 100’ above the deck and then…

he pulls back on the stick.

We are now watching, in slow motion, the results of that action.
