He says that Dodge patented this engine recently, and he believes it will replace the V8.
What I think is that if they used a clone of this engine, with two banks of cylinders, they would have themselves the next Viper engine: a V12, naturally aspirated.
Just putting that out there. It would properly exalt the Viper to superdupercar status, and make Viper owners feel good again since their engine wasn't being out-powered by a coupe.
But, I would prefer a V6 with an electrically-assisted turbo/generator with an energy recovery system, in my favorite F1 team's colors, just as a thought.
I double dog DARE dodge to call this thing the Slant Six and mount it, predictably, at an angle, so the intake ports are aligned straight vertical. canting it over to the passenger side would be a nice shift in cg to make up for the driver, too.
