I'm curious to know how many forum members that have taken delivery have moonroofs? Just trying to figure out if removing it may speed things up or not. Congrats to all who have their cats!

I think at this point it'll be very difficult to use the cars delivered so far as any kind of accurate barometer that'll tell you whether or not to order the moonroof. It's true that a few months ago moonroof orders were on indefinite hold -- but at various times that has also applied to black hoods and brass monkey wheels too. They were all temporary.

So due to the past holds you'll likely find an overrepresentation of non-moonroof cars but as they say in the financial services business, "past results are not an indicator of future performance."

I didn't have a choice as I have the Challenger but if it was available I would have not gotten it. I've never been a moon/sun roof guy. If I'm looking for top down I'll go convertible.

I also personally think that sunroofs don't below in muscle cars.

There's NO way on earth I'd get a Charger Hellcat without a sunroof. For 12 years i had a twin turbo 300zx project car with 550hp to the wheels, and it had t-tops. It was the most fun car ive owned in my life, and there was not one time i pulled it out of the garage that i didn't take those tops off.

It gives me a sense of freedom, like being on a motorcycle, and being one with nature - in a sense. And having all that Hellcat horsepower just adds to the "fast car with the wind in your hair" experience.

So to answer your question... absolutely yes.

Do you ride? I see you noted that in your post. T-Tops, convertible or even sticking your head out of a moon roof is nothing in comparison to a nice day and a good ride.

Just ask that question of my dealer since I'm sitting in VON HELL.
After looking at the 2015's at the dealership the moonroof looked pretty darn good. Nothing in my color but on the B5 blue Charger R/T it was a sharp add.
Based on what I saw, I asked if the moonroof can be added? They are checking to see if there's a penalty to the bigger allocation/production process...beyond the one I already have?

That's an option that I have had on many cars. I have a 2013 Charger RT Max. I am a bit on the bigger side and with the seat all the way down my hair brushes the roof liner. I easily have two or three inches without from the roof in little kitty. And honestly, having had cars almost all my life with a moon roof I seldom opened it unless I thought a plane was about to crash and wanted to get a better view. Sorry, a little morbid but those are the only times I was glad I had it.

The average wait right now on an order is 3 months. So, regardless you'll be waiting a while. Get the one you really want, because it's going to be a long wait. I waited 15 weeks for mine (took delivery 1 week ago).

I'm 6'4" and have had the sunroof in my past 2 cars ('07 300 SRT8, '16 Charger SRT 392). My head always touches the roofliner and its bothered me so much the past 12 years that I will NOT be getting one in my next car (Charger Hellcat). At the time I got both cars I needed to vent the car on hot days (So. Cal.) because I would carry medical implants that were heat sensitive. I no longer need that requirement and recommend anyone 6'3" or taller so try sitting in both versions to decide if you will be comfortable or not.

Even if you ARE replying to a 5.5 year old post... pretty sure it came in by now :ROFLMAO:
BTW, three Challengers in the last five years, all with roofs. Wouldnt buy one without it. No issues. I’m not 6’3 though lol.

I had my '20 Charger, factory ordered, with a sunroof in just 2 weeks from the ordering date to delivery date to the dealer.

Ordering for the 2020's are closed/done now though
