Saturday is the day I finally pick up my Hellcat Challenger, from a dealer in MI a few hours away!
It's been a long wait, a bumpy ride, optimism, disappointments, anxiety, elation, and now it's finally here!

I was on the Bob F von hell ride when I finally threw in the towel with him in Feb, called numerous dealers, and finally found mine in D1 thanks to a lead from DeputyDog, in exactly the configuration I wanted. Torred, auto, ruby red seats.

After 2 months in D1 purgatory, it was finally built on the 20th of April, and delivered last Monday, but can't pick it up till tomorrow due to work.

I will be there bright and early, meeting my salesman who was kind enough to save all documents for me and has kept me in the loop these past couple months.

Now, it better not f***ing rain! :(

Quick question, as an out of state buyer, does anyone know how sales tax works for MI?
I bought a car in Ohio once, and I paid sales tax here in Illinois when I got it titled and plated here.
Is MI different, because dealer told me I pay MI tax then Illinois for the difference?

Just don't want any surprises on a joyous day!

Pics are from my salesman, mine will be posted tomorrow.

Some out of state dealers will give you a temporary 15-30 day tag and you will pay taxes and license fees when you register at your local DMV . Two dealers from out of state said this is how they do it.

Nice, have a great day getting that car.

I think you can pay the tax to the state that licensed the car, I don't think you have to pay it twice. but you will find out and can give us all the update. ( along with photos )

Congrats on the delivery of your Cat! I have a similar Bob F von hell ride story that turned out to be successful. Hoping for my delivery some time in June. As far as taxes and my understanding, one is only supposed to pay sales tax in the state you title and tax your vehicle in. You can't get double taxed that I'm aware of, and I'm sure your state of residence would not be okay with MI getting their taxes unless MI sends it to your state of residence.
Enjoy your Hell Baby to the max!

Congrats! Remember tonight, breath in, breath out and try to get some sleep tonight.

I bought a couple of cars from MO and they tried to charge me what the tax% for IL was. They were a little low so our great Sec of ST sent me a bill for the difference.

Picked her up today, all I can say is WOW!

Well worth the wait! Driving her home is tough trying to keep it 55 or under for the break in,she just wants to run!
Great dealership experience at Vicksburg Dodge in MI, small town dealer, and Matt my salesman saved me every piece of paperwork that came with the car in a nice red (of course) binder for posterity.

Thoroughly pleased with the whole process from them, but can't say the same for Dodge, as we all know but I have to admit, it's all forgotten when you see it and start it up for the first time!

He was also kind enough to show me a few paint blemishes that my buddy and I would have probably missed upon inspection, and he's going to call my local dealer to advise them of it and to facilitate getting them taken care of.

A few impressions, paint was not flawless as I've alluded to. I'll post pics perhaps in a new thread to see if they can easily be corrected.
The audio system well, I dont know, could be better, but didn't buy it for that I know. Took forever for the Uconnect to see my Iphone when I plugged it in via USB, and so slow loading songs.
Bluetooth worked fine though so I guess thats' what I'll use mostly. Seems I have to get a decent SD card too, by recent posts here.

The Ruby red seats to me are gorgeous, as my buddy also agreed. Glad I went with them. Comfortable as well, more so than my 11 SRT. Seems like it anyway.
Love the new interior, which is really the first time I saw it in person. They did a great job updating.

Performance wise, well, couldn't really stretch it's leg yet, but the little I did, all I can say is I going to need a radar detector! Lol.

Not being familiar with the settings (Performance pages) I drove home in track mode, so was a little bumpy on those terrible MI,IN, and IL roads.
I realized that when I got home, and started playing with various settings.

She definitely needs some paint correction issues, so with those blemishes notwithstanding, I'm totally happy with it.
It's been a dreary drizzly day so far so car's a little dirty from the drive home, so she needs a bath! Off I go!

I'll post more pics after I clean her up.

Here's a couple.
These blotches (kind of like big waterspots) are in various areas on mostly the hood and roof. There's also a couple on the spoiler,so leads me to believe it happened after it left the factory.
I haven't tried getting them out but seems like they should not be too hard to do so?
Going to bring it in to service and see what they say.
